As per Detroit Red Wings facebook page....Whaaa?
  4. McCollum back McCollum back for 7th rounder...
  5. Sabres acquire Beaulieu for pick

Sabres get Nathan Beaulieu for a third round pick in this years draft. Seen this on This is a steal for Buffalo, Nathan is a first round draft pick and his numbers have continued to improve in the NHL. This trade makes no sense to me from Montreal's perspective.
  6. Devils get Mirco Mueller and a 2017 fifth round pick and the sharks get a 2017 2nd round pick and 2017 fourth round pick acquired from Nashville. Seen this also on Mueller is a former first round draft pick, he's only played 54 games for the sharks and his offensive numbers are low in the NHL and the AHL. I expect he will get more minutes in Jersey, we will have to see if he improves.
  7. Flames acquire Mike Smith

Flames get Mike Smith in exchange for the rights to Chad Johnson, prospect Brandon Hickey and 2018 conditional third round pick. I seen this on Hickey was a third round pick. Interesting trade, Smith is 35, but might have a few good years left in him and I expect his numbers will improve on a better team.
  8. Per McKenzie. 3rd RD pick in 2017 and 2nd round in 2018.
  9. Update: #RedWings acquire third-round draft pick in 2017 @NHL Entry Draft from the @NHLBlackhawks in exchange for right wing Tomas Jurco. So long, Jurco.
  10. The Edmonton Oilers traded left wing Taylor Hall to the New Jersey Devils for defenseman Adam Larsson on Wednesday. Hall, 24, had 65 points (26 goals, 39 assists) in 82 games this season. Taken by the Oilers with the first pick of the 2010 NHL Draft, Hall has 328 points (132 goals, 196 assists) in 381 games. He has scored at least 20 goals four times in six seasons. The Devils were No. 30 in the League at 2.22 goals per game this season, and their leader in goals and points, forward Kyle Palmieri, can become a restricted free agent Friday. Larsson, 23, had three goals and 15 assists in 82 games this season, and averaged an NHL-career best 22:30 of ice time per game. The right-shot defender was the No. 4 pick of the 2011 draft. He has 64 points (nine goals, 55 assists) in 274 games. The Oilers have one right-shot defender signed for next season, Mark Fayne. Adam Clendening and Eric Gryba, the other right-shot defensemen who finished 2015-16 with the Oilers, will become unrestricted free agents Friday.
  11. Shea Weber for Pernal Karl Subban

WTF Poile got robbed here. Subban's defensive game has improved a lot but boy Weber is the total package
  12. Detroit trades Datsyuk to Arizona

    Arizona Coyotes F Pavel Datsyuk 2016 1st-Rd Pick (16th overall) DetroitRed Wings F Joe Vitale 2016 1st-Rd Pick (20th overall) 2016 2nd-Rd Pick

Detroit Red Wings ‏@DetroitRedWings 4m4 minutes ago UPDATE: The #RedWings have acquired prospect Dylan Sadowy from San Jose for a third-round draft pick in 2017.
  14. Jakub Kindl traded to Panthers

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie Kindl has been traded to FLA. Per Ansar Khan: #Red Wings deal Kindl to Florida. Get back 6th round pick in 2017 and retain 15 percent of salary. So long, Kindl.
  15. Hi My child has recently joined the training classes of hockey. So looking to buy practice hockey socks for him. Searching online there are different online shops providing hockey socks having different price list. So is it safe to go online and buy hockey socks?
  16. CHI/PIT trade: Daley for Scuderi Daley seemed to be on the trading block the moment he got to Chicago.
  17. Who and What are the Detroit Red Wings?

The glory (Cup) years, character and signature play are history, leaving what appears to be a wandering identity with team management and players equally unsure. Every organization has a “formula for success”. Just a handful, however, can claim their system works – wins championships. The Wings were one of those teams. New more offense-oriented NHL (goals at measly 2.66/game), 3 on 3 OTs and rules package has the Wings searching for answers and a clear path to more consistency, competitiveness and wins. “You are what your record says you are.” Today, they are a .500 team and probably a bubble team to make the playoffs. But more unsettling and costly is the lack of effective attention to the back end. The Wings neither have a “stopper” on defense nor in goal. Last night’s game against the Caps is perfect example: Evgeny Kuznetsov skates by Zetterberg, Kronwall’s late to the party and Mrazek is not sure what to do. It was a 3 on 3 situation, but the scenario and outcome have been replicated during regulation in many games … and will continue to be repeated throughout this season. No one on the current roster has stepped up to the challenge. Grand Rapids’s D-core: Ouch! The 2016 UFAs roster is underwhelming on defense. Ken Holland and Jeff Blashill will have to leave their comfort zone and part with some of the young assets. I suggest the first place to look is Anaheim. What will it take to get Hampus Lindholm?
  18. Brandon Sutter traded to Canucks

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 1m1 minute ago So, full trade as per @VanCanucks is Brandon Sutter and a third for Bonino, Clendenning and a second.
  19. Chicago received defenseman Trevor Daley and forward Ryan Garbutt for Sharp and defensemanStephen Johns.
  20. If there's one thing that will happen with each new CBA, it's new and interesting ways to get around the cap. I know we've already seen bad contracts traded for players that may never play in the league again... but now we're seeing players that aren't even in the league (permanent LITR) and are employed by the league! FFS are we reaching a new low?
  21. Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 2m2 minutes ago Erik Cole traded to Detroit, pending trade call I like it Kenny! Hopefully it wasn't for too much Edit: Complete deal is Cole and a conditional 2015 3rd-round pick (Dallas keeps pick if Detroit reaches ECF and Cole plays in 50% of games), for (D) Mattias Backman, © Mattias Jamark and a 2015 2nd-round pick.
  22. The NY Islanders have acquired defenseman Johnny Boychuk from the Boston Bruins for two second round picks and a conditional third round pick. They also acquired defenseman Nick Leddy from the Chicago Blackhawks for Tj Brennan, Ville Pokka and Anders Nilsson. Great pickups by the Isles, their backend looks decent after these moves.
  23. Didn't see this mentioned in the game thread, and don't have a link, however I did see the interview between periods of the Maple Leafs game. Mick asked a few questions, can't remember them specifically, but the big one I do remember is Holland telling Mickey that "he is expecting to make a trade by the end of the first half of the season". They followed up with some clips of ferraro and callahan, not sure if they were implying those two. Anyone else see the interview? Can't remember if Holland was referencing a RH Dman. What are your thoughts?
  24. Per TSN.
