AGREED!! I told my wife (a Calgary Flames Fan) about the Wings winning first seed, and the fact that they will probably be playing Calgary in the first round. Her response: "Well, I'm sorry the Wings won't be winning the Stanley Cup this year." I had to chuckle at her response. Props to the Wings for winning the #1 seed, and let's hope it carries on into the Playoffs!

I will predict a 4-1 victory for the Wings. Goals from Bert, Dats x2, Holmstrom, And then it is off to the PLAYOFFS!!! YAY!!

I agree!! President's Trophies are great and I love it when the Wings win them, but I much prefer Lord Stanley's Cup!

Great night for Hockey. I was in Dayton, OH watching a Dayton Bombers game (they lost) and got plenty of bad looks for wearing my Wings jersey. I guess being in close proximity to Columbus after Sunday's game caused some bad feelings. Good thing they didn't see me after tonight's game. Good for Hasek, Bert, Calder, and Dats. Hasek for the Shutout, Bert and Calder for their goals, and Dats for the assists. Good on you guys! And good for the Hawks as well. I am glad to see Nashville finally knocked down where they belong!

Ok. So I was on my way to Dayton, OH, to visit family and had to listen to the game on XM radio. It sounded like Dom played well, and I was really pissed that he lost his shutout so late in the game. I was stoked about Holmstrom's two goals though!! Good win for the Wings, though!

I tend to agree with most of the people on here that Sammy should sit. Maltby will make a great Playoff grinder. Even if he doesn't score, he will agitate, and you need that in the Playoffs, and you just don't see Sammy do that enough.

That is one of the first reorginization ideas that I have seen that I really like.

I want Dallas to win that game as well. Then we will be 1 point ahead of Nashville with a game in hand.

I don't think the Avs have a hope of making it. The Flames will definitely get the points they need in the next few games.

Unfortunately, I believe that if Buffalo keeps playing as they are now, they will basically run right through whoever they meet. I mean, there is the always the possiblity of an upset, but we will have to see what happens. I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Sabres be the East's representative in the Cup Finals.

Anyone have any idea what the Wings record is in Shootouts this season?

At least Bert has a goal with the Wings now. and one point is better than none, although it kinda sucks that the Wings lost after having a 3-0 lead. I agree, that I hope they are getting all the kinks out before the playoffs.

Maybe with Turco's uneasiness against the Wings, tonight will be different. Maybe the wings will score more than 3 goals. It would be nice.

I don't think it matters who the Wings play in the first round. I think the Wings will win whatever series they find themselves in. Even if it takes six or seven games. I would love to see the Wings win in four or five games so they have some time off before the next round.

I think it just seemed like a good preview of playoff hockey.

My friend's roommate's reaction was hilarious! He was like, "What the hell?" He just sat there for about two minutes flipping the switch on and off trying to get the light to turn on, then just walked out.

I will go with the popular prediction of 3-1. The third goal will be a Empty-Netter methinks. Bert should get some more points if not a goal tonight.
