I absolutely agree with you there. My point was that EVERY fanbase of EVERY team in EVERY sport has those people. If a fan of another team is embarrassed by our fans, and their own, and every other teams......they would never do anything but be embarrassed. I would never dispute that we have our share of idiots. I just find another team's fan coming here with that statement to be highly amusing

Yeah, no team has idiot fans. It boggles your mind that you can find idiots in every fanbase? Really? Hell, I can find 2 or 3 just here in my office. Do you get embarrassed for every other fan base in North America too? That would be an aweful amount of embarrassment to endure.

After looking over your board, I think I could have more intelligent conversations with 11 year old anime fans. I'll stick to LGW, thank you very much.

See...for me, it's partly because I work 9-5 and would have to leave work early to drive to the D, as would my wife. On top of that.....it would cost my family $400 just for tickets, parking, and gas. That doesn't include any programs, snacks, food and the like that we may want/ The money I have in the bank is staying right where it is in case I lose my freakin job.....I've got 3 months worth if anything happens. I love the Wings, and I'd love to be there......it just is not advisable. It sucks, but we ARE talking about the state and the city with the worst unemployment rates in the nation. Those of us that are still employed are being VERY careful.

Many of us have been fans long enough to have expirienced at least one exodus. We have had our lean years as well....when I was introduced to hockey, the Wings were absolutely terrible. Pens fans have no reason to hate Hossa, it seems completely unreasonable to me. As a side note....some of us are Lions fans as well.....you don't know pain until you watch them suck it up year after year

Yeah, the Pens deserved the win, but I was heartened that that they just BARELY held on to it at the end.

Doesn't bother me a bit....he would not have been content here because there was no way in hell we were gauranteeing him playing time. When your team has 2 of the top forwards in the league who were drafted very late in the draft, you don't need to go out on a limb for a player that may or may not be any good, you just continue to develop your own.

I may be crazy, but I had been hoping for Dallas since our series ended. I respect the Stars, they have quality players and a good team, I just don't think they can match up to us nearly well enough to take more than 2 games from us. I'm just flat out feeling the Cup, and have been since we started the playoffs. I hope I'm not wrong!

Is it just the wife and I, or are the VS announcers incoherent for a portion of the game? Seriously, at at least 3 points in the game, one of the announcers (I don't know which it was) started rambling, and after a few minutes we just looked at eachother trying to figure out if the other person could translate. I THINK that if those sentences were taken out, rearranged, and put back together, they MIGHT have made sense, but I can't be positive. Just as a side note......I loved whichever announcer made the statement that: "If they gave credit for half games, the Avs won this one" That just flat out had me laughing right out loud! Anyway....are we crazy? We weren't drinking THAT much.

Don't understand the Cleary bashing, but I'm going back on topic anyway. I'd prefer for Brunnstrom to go elsewhere, personally. Anyone who wants a gaurantee of playing time doesn't want to put in the work to improve his game, IMO. If he wants to come in and EARN his time, great. Otherwise, go ahead and play somewhere that won't get you championships, but will get you endorsements.

Any team that makes the playoffs is there for a reason, and obviously dangerous. That said, I'm taking the Wings in 5, 6 tops. The Avalanche just don't impress me all that much, but they are a good team again.

And I really don't care if the dynasty fell into his lap or not, he's kept it going, which is more than can be said about a lot of GMs in any sport. I hated Bert before he was a Wing. I grudgingly tolerated him in the Winged Wheel. I didn't think I could go lower in opinion of him, but he managed it. What an embarrassment.

You are all obviously correct when you talk about how pathetic they are. The team, owning the worst record in the league, had the gall to make only minor modifications to their roster. They are obviously incable of being competative, based on the current standings. I, for one, don't understand why they should even bother playing out the rest of the season when they so obviously have no talent. If I had season tickets, I'd just go ahead and throw them out the window because of how worthless they are. He must be the worst GM in sports history to miss what so many fans can see, that this team is simply nothing without 'Insert Player Name Here' so that we have SOMEONE, ANYONE to score. With so many fans so POSITIVE that they will lose in the first round, we should go ahead and start forming the lynch mob now, and start demanding the sale of the team to an owner who will actually keep them competative. Wait.....I'm not on the Lions board talking about Millen anymore am I? You people need to get a grip.

Every year around this time I am reminded why other fans think we are spoiled little brats as Wings fans. Playoffs every year. Quality players and prospects. Best record in the League. And people whine because we didn't trade the farm for 'insert flavor-of-the-day name here' right at the deadline. JEBUS!

I find the stick salute thing rather cheesy. It's slightly endearing when watching college games (Munn is a great place to watch hockey) but seems amatuerish in the pros. Just my opinion though.

Lecavailer - Zetterberg = No Iginla - Datsyuk = No Lucic - Filpulla = No Brett Burns - Kronwall =No Idea about Burns, can't even guess Steve Downie - Hudler = Yes Lecavailer and Iginla......would LOVE to have either, but not at the expense of the D&Z chemistry. For some reason, I really like Filpulla......so that's for personal reasons only. If I were a GM, I might change my tune.

My thoughts exactly. I don't blame him for refusing the Wings. I'd want Draper, Maltby, or any other Wing from that era to tell Colorado or Dallas to piss off as well. Nothing wrong with having loyalty to an organization, it's part of what made/makes Stevie Y and Lidstrom the great guys that they are.

I didn't like Bert here, I certainly wouldn't like Tutu either. I'd live, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

We traded Avery for Shneider if I remember correctly. I remember being very thrilled at the time, because the only thing Avery was producing was minutes in the penalty box. I dodn't remember him being a good hockey player here, only a second-rate enforcer.
