Hey, I was at games one and two in Detroit and I am trying to figure out what the song is that is played with the video highlights right before they take the ice? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is OT

One thing I have noticed in the last two games about the wings, is that they are getting caught at times trying to make a play when a puck comes bouncing into their zone. If they miss it, the flames seem to pounce on it and get it in deep and generate chances. I have felt that if they would try and retreat into their zone with the puck instead of trying to stand up at the top of the zone they would negate these chances. Sometimes they are victims of their incredible ability to move the puck (i think the wings have the best corps of puck moving defenceman in the league)

maybe they were trying to make amends for the 1st period of game two. Where 5 penalties were assesed in the first 10 minutes, the weakest of them being the interference call on Hale. Every game someone isn't happy with the refs, we just have to dela with it.

Jebus, It was a clean hit. The series has been a clean series. Phaneuf got rocked, headed to the dressing room, sniffed some salts, and was back out there after only missing a couple of shifts.

I think some people may have thought it looked cheap because phaneuf was moving away as he got drilled and it appeared like it was closer to his head than it really was. I just hope he is good to go next game.

^^^ The wings have a great home record as well, I don't any has suggested anything to the contrary, but maybe that bodes well for the falmes... If the flames can win 2 games at home, the series momentum shift is huge going back to game 5. Maybe then they would be able to show up on the road. If they split. detroit wins in 5.

The fans on CP are calling for playfairs head.. Well, some of them I guess. I think it would be a very very bold moved, and extremely short sighted for this team. If you take a step back and look at the situation, playfair is a rookie headcoach, that led the flames to the best home record in the league. Granted the team has one of the worst road records, I still believe that this is somthing that can be greatly improved upon next season. If Sutter were to fire playfair, I think it would be tough for him to find someone to replace him for next season. I think the expectations for the flames are way to high as of late. We made the playoffs in '03 and went to the cup final, after 7 years of missing playoffs before. Since that run, everyone thinks we should be a cup contender every year now, it's really quite funny. My prediction is that playfair remains the coach of this team until christmas, at the very earliest, and if the team is not improving by that time, there is a possiblilty that he is let go.

I can understand your distaste for him as a player, but there are much better adjectives to describe him, even from your perspective. I just feel the need to defend his character as a person.... and FireCaptain, doesn't your girlfriend play dressup for you some times?

while i choose to disagree about him being an *******, i would echo your sentimenets about the majority of fans on this board. LGW seems to be one of the best collection of hockey minds on the internet. Hopefully the discussion between us will continue to be civil.

I honeslty think that you guys are reading to much into what you have been reading. When a player gets interviewed after an embarrassing effort what do you want them to say? Next game we are gonna bring the same stuff as last night and lose again? They have to reckognize they were outperformed by the Wings and that if they want a different outcome they need to elevate their level of play.

grapes is getting old... as each year passes by it seems that his brain looses more and more of its normal function. The guy is fit for a straight jacket. Ron MacLean is the only thing that holds the entire segment together, otherwise it would just a be a crazy racist rambling for 10 minutes.

Do you want a guy to take up a roster spot if he isn't ready to go? A head injury is serious buisness, and even if you forget the fact that he could get even more seriously hurt, he will be more prone to mental mistakes on the ice. Your team looked very impressive in game one, why risk ruining that with a player that isn't ready to be there?

I'll be at the again tommorow. I hope I won't leave the arena completey ashamed again. From my perspective, the only saving grace is that it is impossible for us to play any worse. The score could be worse, but the effort just wasn't there. I really hope we can show up, because if we can't show up at this time of the year, were getting ready for a very early exit.

The big difference is the type of injury. Head injury >> Leg injury. If you rush a leg injury, you may require surgery or extra rehab, whereas if you rush a head injury you may require a bodybag.

Not trying to play devil's advocate or anything, but TSN is sometimes dubbed as Toronto Sports Network by Canadians, because that is all the network seems to care about (much to the chagrin of us out west). I honeslty cant' say anything about their message board, because after a few visits I realized a lot of posts on it are pure crap.
