    Grade the Wings and Flames

Detroit - A+ they got the W Calgary - F- (can you even have a F minus?) they got the L i think the only grading that really matters is 1-0 which is score in the series. At this time of the year, it doesn't matter how pretty you do it, as long as it gets done.

    Do you think.....

The way iginla reacted was exactly as to be expected. The flames were getting dominated in every aspect of the game and regardless of his personal effort, the team just was not responding. He was frustrated, and was trying to take his frustrations out in an effort that would help motivate his team. Hopefully the team can respond to the emotion next game, if nothing else. Although I would tend to agree, the history between the flames and mick mcgeough isn't the prettiest. He was probably the last ref that flames fans, and players, would have picked to call a game. I'm not saying that old mick has a vendetta against the flames, but sometimes the emotions get the best of you, especially at a time when the stakes are so high.

    A Flames fan perspective

The flames sure missed regehr last night. It was obvious from the start of the game that the wings game plan was to try and expose warrener from the start of the game. The puck was almost always brought in on the left side when he was on the ice. After gaining the zone, he has a serious inability to close the gap with the attacking forward. PLEASE PLEASE let regehr be ready to go on sunday! As odd as it may sound as well, I missed friesen as well. He brings speed, and solid defensive game, which the flames were clearly lacking all night. Hopefully a different team shows up sunday.

    GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

Hey everyone. Got back late from the game tonight, I had to console myself by visiting the casino in Sarnia on my drive back to London. Apparently the casino is less safe that the Joe for flames fans! I was constantly being made fun of at the casino, but it was all fun. Tonight was my first time in Detroit, and I have to say that even though the arena isn't that much too look at, you can't help but feel the sense of history that it holds. Seeing all the banners in the rafters, it really makes you realize how decorated your franchise really is. I had fairly nice seats for the game, 213 row 9 and was able to see everything quite well. All of the fans in the section were incredibly friendly, except after our only goal - but that was to be expected. Despite the horrible effort my team put forth I had a very enjoyable experience and I am looking forward to a better effort (hopefully) on Sunday when I will be back for game two.

    GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

Hey everyone, a visitor from CP here. I will be at the game tonight, hopefully I don't get hassled too much! I will be sitting in the wings attack end for the first in 3rd, much to the chagrin of myself and my friend coming with me. I have never been to the Joe before, so I am really looking forward to it. All i can say is that hopefully we don't pull a vancouver/dallas and play 7 periods tonight, i have to drive back to London!
