i would expect that now is the time for Niedermayer to decide whether he retires or not? considering if he doesn't, then the Ducks won't have the cap space to sign Penner, but if he does retire, then Burke could match it.

hear hear! that's what i've been speculating for months! lupul for pitkanen! throwing Smith in the mix hurt us. unless we're guaranteed a veteran d-man (unlikely but we'll see), then trading Smith was a horrible decision. i hope i'm wrong about Sanderson... but only time will tell....

LOL @ us (oilers) playing Smyth like 8 times a year. Back then when he shed tears after being traded i really thought he was sincere but i guess now we know that he cares for the money first.. and to sign with our division rival no less. *shakes head* OH WELL life goes on... don't need him.

Torres has the grit and he is an impact player but he is fairly lazy on the ice. Sometimes when I watch him I want to go up and tell him to move his ass. The other problem is his consistency... when he's good, he's on fire.. but when he's bad, he will suck majorly. There's really no in-between. If he actually motivated himself he can be good consistently. On a sidenote, the Oilers offered a contract to Torres yesterday.

i'm still annoyed at the Oilers for picking ALEX PLANTE at 15th!!! its blasphemous!! at least get Esposito! Plante would've still been availiable for the 30th pick!!

personal preference.. i'm just not keen on Cherepanov. we had a bad experience with Mikhnov so i'd rather select a player who not a Russian player. not to be biased or anything. the transfer agreements et al are too much. i guess you could call it a similar experience as the Habs with Russian players. no offence to anyone. and on a side note... we passed on Cherepanov yet we didn't take Esposito. WTF!
