Nashville is dumping the load on Mason now

i think he may be staying in Toronto. Raycroft and Toskala can probable rotate being starting goalies kind of like what Toskala and Nabokov did in San Jose.

What Current NHLers Were Influenced by Yzerman?
oilandwingsfan replied to BeeRYCE's topic in General
Jarret Stoll, for sure. Here's a quote from an Oiler program a few months back: I would say that based on Jarret's development in the past two years that Stevie Y most definitely had an major influence on him. Stoll is developing to be more of a leader and power player nowadays. -
Here is the article on some of the Senators attending little Elgin's funeral: http://www.ottawasun.com/News/OttawaAndReg...206660-sun.html *tear*

nope.. still don't like him. i'm not okay with hearing "its personal reasons" time and time again with not even a little bit of a hint as to what happened... like say... knocking up a TV anchor LOL... and running away to Mexico to avoid the media asking him questions about the trade!
-
well, most hated in Edmonton haha.... but i see a lot of fans from other teams hate him too because of his dirty shots. don't blame them at all!
-
ooh yes i remember that article on Drapes and the little girl. brought tears to my eyes.

here's another one of Pronger some guy made after he ditched Edmonton... http://youtube.com/watch?v=bd87I-ivo7o guy can't sing to save his life but it did help Oil fans cheer up a bit haha

Souray is too much of a defensive liability. Someone said it before already, the only reason he should be considered is that he's big and will drop the gloves but other than that he's pretty brutal. Ryan Smyth will be asking for big bucks, but the Wings already have a player like him in Tomas Holmstrom. Holmstrom is way cheaper but plays with the same skill and heart as Smyth. Chris Drury will be probably be making double his current salary in free agency (according to TSN). When it comes down to Drury and Briere, i'm pretty sure Drury will be the first one signed over Briere. And would you really pay Drury 6.something million bucks??! Honestly he's a great player but that price tag is too high. If the Wings are going to get a bigger dman then i can see Bertuzzi being let go.

Who is your favorite all time player, AND your favorite active player?
oilandwingsfan replied to a topic in General
All-time (Detroit): Stevie Y without a doubt All-time (NHL): Grant Fuhr Current (Detroit): Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Draper Current (NHL): Jarret Stoll, Ales Hemsky, Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Hossa -
If he is going to move it he should move it to Quebec. The Nordiques had many consecutive sellout years (until they had to move to Denver 'cause the Colisée wasn't big enough.) I say, either expand the Colisee or build a new arena.

http://www.canada.com/reginaleaderpost/new...7a-9344a27212f4 sad story about a huge Sens fan

Congrats and a standin' ovation for an awesome season & playoff run for the Red Wings! No more super early exits for this team. It was great to see the Wings prove all those critics wrong! Next year, boys!!

After your team is eliminated...who do you root for?
oilandwingsfan replied to Yzermaynard's topic in General
i'm not going to root for anyone... because Anaheim has Pronger and Ottawa has Comrie. and i actually don't really care about the Cup staying in Canada unless it goes to the Oilers haha.. don't get me wrong i'd love to have the Cup back in Canada but that's not enough reason for me to cheer on the Sens, although i would prefer an actual city that respects and loves hockey to have the Cup. -
Memorial Cup update: Helm and the Tigers beat the Whalers 4-1 yesterday. I'm getting more and more impressed with Helm's skating.
-
i'd cheer for the Sens except 1) i love the Wings and 2) i hate Comrie
-
awwwwww!! how adorable!

^ typical celebration after an Oilers win ^ me and Hemsky. dynamite player.

1) if Pronger did that kind of s*** while with the Oilers last year i would NOT be defending him. It's not a matter of team bias, its a matter of common sense. If you had any common sense, you'd see that on the hit on Holmstrom, Pronger's elbow was clearly driven to the back on Homer's head. Don't use that "Pronger was just trying to finish a hit" argument. That's a load of bull. Since when do you finish hits with elbows to the head? 2) STOP with all the frickin "ITS ALL THE REFS FAULT BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH" bull. the refs aren't responsible for anything except calling the penalties as they see 'em. Maybe if your Ducks hadn't taken all those stupid penalties you wouldn't be whining right now. the only wrong call i saw was the one on Niedermayer regarding the major and the game misconduct. and the whole "unwritten rule" thing, excuse me while i ROFL.

WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET
oilandwingsfan replied to aflac9262's topic in General
Wings win 4-2. Take advantage of the situation! -
haha yeah that is really creepy! after the Oilers had their team autograph session at West Ed Mall in March the guys would be walking through the mall to get to wherever they parked and they would have like a group of people following them all the way out. especially these crowds of girls who would be following Jarret Stoll or Joffrey Lupul out. it was really creepy.

half of it has to do with the people who make the ice and the other half is the relative temperature inside and outside of the rink. our ice in Edmonton used to be pretty top notch however in the past year the quality has gone down considering one of our top ice makers decided to do the ice for international tournaments or something now. however, it still provides good ice considering that our weather is like below zero for like 8 months of the year (lol) and that the rink temperature is significantly cooler than others too because of the effect of the outside climate. but i guess our ice also "sucks" when other players from the opposing team screw up big time (*coughPatrikStefanJan4Dallasgamecough*) lol.
