LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

I'm not asking to replace him wiht Cheli, I just don't think its a wise idea of having him out there for 10 minutes. Add three extra minutes to Lids's line, and 2 to Kron's, and taking Lilja minutes down to 5 minutes.

LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

I understand the team had a bad game. But that doesn't mean you give up on the game. Sometimes the best team doesn't win, and if you can't be mad about having the chance of being up 3 - 0 for the SCF, and only to lose it by one goal - a goal that should have never happened. The only reason why people are not as angry as me is because we all know how great of a team this is and all of us still believe to win the Cup, despite the series being 2-1 instead of 3-0. But still, you can't ignore the mistakes. If you ignore them, then it might cost you another game, and another, and another. If the series was tied at 1-1, and we lost game 3 of what Lilja did, and now be down 1-2, then I think all of you would be asking for his head right now. But that is not how it should be. Judge a player's game - game by game; no matter what the situation is. Babs please please DONT give Lilja 10 minutes. PLEASE.

LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

But can't you see the difference? All those players you mentioned are great players, who you know will rebound in the next game. LILJA IS NOT A GREAT PLAYER, thus he should not be given a pass like the rest of our stars.

LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

How can you people say he didn't cost us the game? Go to the 3:30 mark. We lost by one goal. I am not ignoring that most of our players had a really bad game, but that is not going to change the fact that the person that cost us the game winning goal was LILJA himself. No excuses. How can you say this isn't similar to Chelli's mistake of game 5? Of course you can't bring in Quincy or any player that hasn't played in the playoffs so far, but for the love of God, please lower his minutes. Give me a tired Lidstrom for extra 5 minutes, then 5 minutes of Lilja.

LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Whats sad about the play was that he had the damn puck right in his stick for a good 2 seconds before a Penguin came up to him. He gets to the puck first - then what does he do? He looks up to see if there is a Penguin coming up. WELL GUESS WHAT LILJA; YOUR WARNING SIGNS WERE CORRECT, EXCEPT YOU ACTED STUPIDILY. Great hockey players like Lids or Dats would have a feel to a Pen coming up to them, and they would not have to waste time look up to see, they would quickly dump the puck out before a Pen arrived. I'm not asking him to be Lids, but God your a NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYER - you should have the skills for this, since you made it this high.

When to pull the goalie down by 1 goal?

When the Wings got the power play with 4:30 to go, it would have been perfect time to have a 4 on 6. I can promise you we would've had alot more chances then the amount we had in the final 1.5 minutes of the game.

LILJA - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Well Lilja just made an error costing us this game. Can we switch them now? This guy is the perfect player of a lifeless hockey club like Columbus. NOT for the Red and White.

I disagree on this one. Even if he comes back and scores another 2-3 goals.
  25. Sorry if this was posted already. Good for hockey next year Bettman says every team will play all others at least once next year Associated Press Updated: May 24, 2008, 8:11 PM ET DETROIT -- The Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings won't have to wait until the Stanley Cup finals to play next season. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said every team in the league will play all the others at least once next season. The announcement came Saturday before Game 1 of the finals between Pittsburgh and Detroit, two teams that did not meet this regular season. Bettman also used his annual pre-Cup news conference to say the size of goaltenders' equipment will be analyzed in the offseason. The commissioner said he hopes changes can be made, but the issue first must make its way through a committee process. "All goaltenders should be on equal footing," he said, noting scoring is down, goalies are bigger both physically and with the equipment they wear, and he wants more room for skaters to shoot on net. Bettman's comments came several weeks after it was announced the NHL and its players' union had formed a group to examine the size and configuration of goalie equipment. They will meet June 11 in Toronto. The idea to have a group examine the issue came about at the general managers' meetings in Naples, Fla., in February, where there was unanimous consent to do something about the size of the equipment. If the group decides changes to the rules governing goaltenders' equipment are warranted, its recommendations will be forwarded to the league's competition committee for consideration. "This is going to be the best attempt that can be made to deal with goaltender equipment," Bettman said. Bettman also waded into the controversy over the Red Wings hosting Game 1 the same night the Detroit Pistons were playing the Boston Celtics at home in Game 3 of the NBA's Eastern Conference finals. Criticism of the NHL in the matter has been "unrealistic and unfair," Bettman said, citing the NBA's admission that it decides on its conference final schedule far in advance. "Guess what? They're not the only ones who have to lock things in," he said. No city until now has hosted a Stanley Cup finals game and an NBA conference finals game on the same day, according to STATS LLC. NBA spokesman Tim Frank this past week called the scheduling conflict "unbelievably unusual" but said the Eastern Conference finals dates are locked in for nearly a year, taking into consideration TV needs and arena availability. "It's set up so far in advance," he said. "There's not any flexibility." In other scheduling news, Bettman said he expects the league to again kick off its regular-season schedule in Europe. And an announcement will be forthcoming on the participants and venue for the second Winter Classic outdoor game. The Penguins and Sabres played a game in snowy Buffalo on New Year's Day that proved to be a ratings success. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3411195
