I am the only one thinking this is by far our worst defenseman ?? The guy had HUGE turnovers... In the first period, he mishandle the puck, give it to Malkin and then fall on the ice living Malkin all alone !! he's just not gifted, he has terrible hands + he sucks also on the blue line on PK, he keeps losing the puck leading to big breakaways + his goon reputation (deserved or not) put him in the box a lot... considering how bad our PK is right now, that really hurts He's playing for us for 4 seasons and not improving despite tons of ice time. What do you think ? Should we trade him ?

I'm sorry but i've seen him mishandling the puck lots of times during the regular season... His malkin gift was not the first crappy turnover he did in our defensive zone. I remember about similar stuff in last year playoffs as well. Rafalski made a terrible game as well, I think he's f***ed up, need rest... But at 100% he's not on the same planet as Kronwall. Rafs is in the top 20 in the league, Kronwall maybe in top 100.

Well, thanks for you comments... I have no issue on Lebda, cause he always step up in big games. He also do not play against top guys and earns nothing, so i don't have any issue with him. But Kronner makes more than $3m and has tons of ice time, including in special teams. Problem: He's really not a smart guy. In a s***ty team, Kronwall would have terrible stats, because in Detroit players around are making up from his plays. No way he's in the league Top 20 he would be a second-tier guy everywhere. Detroit organization makes players look better. I have much more hope with Ericsson, cause i saw him doing some smart plays in game 3 that Kronwall will arguably never do in his whole career. If he would play anywhere else than in Detroit, most people on these boards would bash him saying he's a dumb goon !

The pens have the momentum now but Wings have been really kicking ass at home. Ducks is definitely a better playoff team than Pitt, and we managed to find a way to beat them. Only way Pitt can win games is capitalizing on our s***ty PK (In 5 and 5, the Getzlaf line made us look like *******, i'm still trying to see Crosby on the ice but i can't), but remember Datsyuk is awesome and could provide a big step up. Can't wait for tonight. If we win that's going to be a good weekend

we could lose in 6... Special teams may be a big issue. Still i think it's a great season. I still feel good about the Ducks series. If we lost again they would be in our heads the following years. If we lose i would only be really sad for Osgood. The guy brought his best game ever in the playoffs and is along with our depth the main reason we are still running for the cup. But still hope we can bounce back in Detroit and regain momentum. Most important game of the year.

I think game 5 will be totally another story than game 4. The only thing we can expect is really poor PK from Detroit, this has been the case throughout all playoffs. I think the wings will bounce back and outwork Pitt. But if the pens manage to clinch the game anyway, wings are dead in 6. Most series we lost over the last years were in 6 with similar scenarios. Kings, Avs series were sweeps coming back from 0-2 for instance.

he's been day to day for a long time i think this is a strategy to make a mess in Pitt... he's maybe not coming back at all.

just not a long term deal... we need some turnover, new big stars... Wings always stepped up after big new signings (Shanny, Hullie & Hasek etc.)

Come on Chicago was terrible on defense... Pens are a much better team. Better goaltender as well. It's like an upgraded Chicago in almost everything. I think game 4 is 50/50. If the wings win that's over in 5. if not, that's probably going to 7 games. And be pretty scary.

i think he chokes tomorrow. But he will manage to finish #1 in shoots, helping Fleury to make 10+ easy saves.

Our PK is terrible. Look at Pittsburgh PK : they are great, they keep pressuring on our blueliners, impossible to get enough time to shoot Detroit PK: 4 guys around the net, plenty of space for pitt. Only Gonchar can shoot well from their blueline, still they live him totally free... Our PK is the reason we lose game 3. TE RRI BLE. In all the other sectors Detroit made a terrific playoff game.

there were a lot of penguins huge interferences not called the refs are NOT advantaging detroit osgood has been lucky with his posts however. but so was fleury

The team has no chemistry with Hossa. He's not a smart player, he's just shooting the puck and play individual like an Eastern Conference guy... Let him go back to Pittsburgh if they still want him

Pitt has been extremely unlucky, that Crosby post but also many others. They had HUGE chances to come back at 2/2. I thought Pitt defensive play was awesome, and the offense is also much better than last year. we can be happy to be up 2-0. we were lucky but we also played our top game, none of our victories is a steal.

Playoff MVP.

Pittsburgh got Guerin don't forget. And Crosby and Malkin are 1 year older. Fleury's maybe tougher too. That may be an harder series than last year. But not as hard as the Ducks series.

love helm ! he was just so unlucky, not scoring goal with so many scoring chances... reminds me about good old draper... could mature in a guy like him. His defense is underrated, he can be lethal on the PK next year.

it is funny how ericsson has become such an important player on these boards.. Come on we haven't even started the playoffs with him. He's an excellent kid, but not yet critical for our organization. Datsyuk's game is a key... with a top level pavel, the pens have no chance. same team +hossa, and an even better osgood than last year.

Everybody thinks about Franzen... That long contract is one of Holland's masterpieces, yeah... But what about Osgood ? 1.4m this year, then 1.7m 1.4m 1m. FYI guys like Fleury earn 5 millions. We have a 3x cup winner locked for the next 3 years for an incredible bargain !!

Not so many mistake. He's fast, skilled, tall. Reminds me about Nick. Pair him 2 years with Nick and he will be a far superior player than Kronwall . I just don't know about his shot at the blueline... He did not play on the PP.
