He's costing nothing, ok. But he is constantly in the PK box (usually it is imaginary calls, not his fault, but refs are calling minutes anyway and that costs the team). + his ice time could be better used by a young kid with potential. Bert has NO upside potential and did not show any chemistry with anybody.

Wings were dominated by SJ in the goaltending area. Howard was solid in round 1, but totally outplayed by Nabokov in round 2. With a championship goaltender, the wings would be right now en route for the cup finals.
-
Sharks took out a great Wings team in 5. They deserve the cup. Montreal is a just a goaltending cinderella story.

every sweede D is not Lidstrom. Look at Eriksson... this guy has absolutely no hands.. we need some great draft picks...
-
We need offensive defensemen... Rafalski is a big defensive liability, much more than Gonchar. Offensive defensemen make the difference in PP and in 5vs5 offense. You cannot be a puck-possession team without an offensive D.
-
Thornton is scoring playoffs goals. This is a different shark team. I'd like them to sweep the Pens in the finals.
-
Well done sharks! We have won a lot of series against you, i guess this was your time. Losing in 5 is not as painful as losing in 7 so at least you were kind enough to beat us quickly. I don't agree about Howard, I think he is unforgivable in game 3. And he can't stop a puck (he just turns them away).

we can't really stand out of the box if the refs are calling dives
-
In game 2, I have seen arguably the best Datsyuk since 2007. Dangerous every time he had the puck... He has lifted his game up to an incredible level since his disappointing olympics.
-
The Caps were up 3-1 in the series. The comeback was VERY unlikely. This is not arrogance, just statistics.

Low-scoring game: PHX advances High-scoring game: DET advances
-
They were for long the San Jose of the Eastern conference... they always suck in playoffs

3 games and zero goals so far for Chicago's huge summer acquisition. With Nashville leading the series, will the guy at least score one before golf course ? The bad mojo for Chicago will obviously get going, this is not the question, but will he be able to at least score an empty netter and justify his huge salary ???
-
What about game 5 dude? You seem like a reliable source of information :siren:
-
he did not have the usual kick in his game starting the playoffs... He does not seem 100%. I saw him running twice on Brizgalov on a PP, old-Mule liked. This was only in the third period and Brizgalov was rock-solid, but it looked pretty dangerous... More dangerous than any crashing the net by Bertuzzl all season long.
-
On the 4th goal tonight, he is way out of his crease for NO REASON... there are plenty of players to cover the left side of the net, he just have to be on the right side covering his right post... Instead of that he goes 3 meters away of his net and let his right side wide open It does not look much like a bad goal, but it is actually one... this was a birthday gift to Vrbata Same story with game 1 At this point I'd rather have Osgood.
-
The problem with Bert is that he chokes everytime he gets a good puck... he mishandles it ! it's crazy... a dog would do better
-
great goal yesterday good guys like cleary, stuart scored goals lately.. It will take pressure off the big guys. wings cup winning teams always had great secondary scoring... we lacked that against the pens last year
-
Congrats to the wings That's just unbelievable considering how many injuries we had during 66% of the season
-
We had our dose of injuries. That squad will be healthy in the playoffs, until win 16th
-
Our PK is doing good because the team is getting confidence overall. That was the #1 problem all year long. Last season problem was Gary fu... Bettman who forced us to play the pens 1 week ahead of the planned schedule. And the Wings lacking passion. When you see them this year cheering when they get a 1 goal lead against a low-ranked west team, this is back too.
-
I'm afraid of Vancouver. They really made the Wings look bad this year. Probably the most dangerous playoff team in the West. Chicago and SJ will choke. Phoenix is a regular season success story which will end up playing golf soon.
-
He won't get much I guess the guy is already very happy that the Wings made him a #1 goaltender. Last offseason instead of Bertuzzi / Williams we could have taken another Conklin... We gave the guy a chance.
-
Howard is definitely an upgrade vs Conklin. But he still could be a Legace 2 I like the fact that Howard plays every game now. This way he's already dealing with a lot of pressure. This could help for the playoffs.
