We've been selling out the Joe year after year since you've won your last cup. Yes we are proud. The problem this year, IMO, is more caused by the economy than lack of interest. I know I haven't been able to afford a game this year having a 100 mile drive and gas prices soaring. You can be darn sure that I haven't missed a single game on tv tho. So yes, we are Hockeytown, and you'd think better if you knew how passionate we are about our hockey.

I just wonder how the media is going to handle the Wings winning the cup. Are they going to say how great the Wings are or how sorry the world is that Crosby didn't get to hoist the cup?

I'm not a basketball fan, and don't jump on that bandwagon either. Still it's a shame that they have to be on at the same time. Way to cut your audience Bettman.

I wear old hats just in case, but seriously, I think the lack of hats for Franzens hat trick was due to fear of the NHL fining Franzen for giving the fans a reason to celebrate. Octupus, hats, cheering, these are all things the NHL is trying to ban in Detroit.

Awesome idea only, it would always be Mickey and Ken. The others would soon be out of work. I always opted for a FSN away game not in HD from HDnets game just because the announcers really annoyed me. Mickey and Kenny rule!!!

ditto, Great post. I have to add that hockey requires so much skill, agility, coordination among others, not by just one star player as a quarterback or pitcher, but by all the players. Any one player can miscue and change the whole game. I love hockey so much I watch other teams play when the Wings aren't on. You'll rarely catch me watching any other sport when a Detroit team isn't playing. But hockey....it's all good no matter who's playing. Go Wings woo hoo
