Exactly. It seems in football, there's a celebration at the end of every play. The guy makes a tackle and he acts like he's King Kong or something. You don't see players celebrating hits or takeaways or whatever in hockey. The only celebrations you see are when they score. I don't have a problem with football players celebrating in the end zone after a touchdown, but come on, every play?

That goal would've been a highlight reel no matter who scored it. It just happened to be Ovie. It was entertaining to watch. I will never get sick of watching someone who has that much enthusiasm for the game no matter who they are.

I don't understand all the hype about Howard. To me he seems an average goalie with an average record 16-13-4. How is this a major improvement over what we already have? Except that he would probably come cheaper.

I was conflicted last night. I was excited to see Hossa fight and stand up for the team at the same time during the whole fight saying, don't get hurt, don't get hurt. Personally, I don't care if we have fights or not. I like a good scrap on the ice now and then. The Wings do just fine without them but it is good to see an occasional reminder that we don't back down from them either. I still would like to see Downey in the lineup. He doesn't have to fight all the time, but knowing he's there would give some of these players who think dirty hits on the Wings will come without retribution a little pause to think before they hit. I was totally impressed with Hossa last night. First by getting the puck for Huds on his first milestone of 20 goals, then standing up for the little guy when he received a face into the boards. To me this shows that he is not here for just himself, but for the team.

Hmmm have Mount Wingsmore overlooking Mount Karen. I guess they'd all have to be smiling.

If you consider his talent offensively and defensively, his work ethic, his heart and team spirit, I would choose him over any player in the NHL. As far as the world, I haven't seen every player in the world but my gut tells me that , ya, I would still choose him.

Great post. I don't hate the kid, I just hate the media frenzy. Especially when there are other players that deserve to share the spotlight. Yes I used to be on the bash Sid bandwagon but as it continues to go overboard, I have lightened up my disdain for him. I still don't like the whining but the media has created that in him. He was put in a position probably a year or 2 before he was mature enough in the NHL to handle it. He is a really good offensive player and deserves some of the limelight but not all of it.

I don't hate Kopi, I just see all the talent we have waiting in G.R.

If Hossa stays then definately it would be Hudler. They had great chemistry last night. If he doesn't then I think we get to keep them both.

Why doesn't the NHL Network show a game every night? I mean they are, afterall, the NHL Network. Seems the NFL Network showed games all the time. But I digress. Make Fox Sports Detroit a national network and then everyone will see the wings and love them. edit: Ken and Mickey are awesome

I remember that about the cam too. I don't think the announcers even knew who the other cam was on. If they did, they sure didn't want to use it. I think I was just happy to actually hear them give the Wings some props. I've decided not to blame Crosby anymore. He has no control over what the media does. He really is a good player. A whiny one, but good

I don't think it was as bad as it has been in the past. I just wish that they would have called the game more instead of just talking about everything else. I was glad that they were actually calling the game when Hossa scored tho. The only thing that truly annoyed me was Pierre at the end of the game. His first question, "...you just played against Sindey Crosby, was that Detroits plan all along?" I'm thinking you freakin moron, of course it was, he's on the Pens isn't he? I'm sure he meant the Z was on the ice when C was but it just sounded funny to me and seemed to be his way of getting his Crosby fix on the air. Rant complete...carry on
