Hockey, IMO, is the best sport out of all of them. It would be nice to see them get the recognition they deserve. At least equal to that of baseball where guys make millions to stand in the outfield and pick their nose for the majority of a game. Don't get me wrong, I watch baseball too but not usually on the edge of my seat. More like when I need a nap.

I haven't been all that impressed wiht flip since we got him to be honest. I think he would probably shine on another team although I couldn't say for sure. But I would rather have both Leino and Helm for probably what we're paying for Filpula. Although if Flip keeps improving I reserve the right to change my mind. LOL I just think Leino, Huds Helm would be a fun line to watch, not that it would ever happen

I would rather see it this way: Hank-Dats-Homer Franzen-Cleary-Hossa Helm-Hudler-Leino Downey/Maltby-Draper-Samuelson But I agree that they both belong

I don't really like any team form New York, but that's just me with exception of when Brad Van Pelt played for the Giants, hometown boy making it big. I did watch Ranger games when Shanny was on the team, now I watch the Devils a little more. Same with teams Federov plays for. These 2 really put hockey over football for me.

So would watching Toronto take out Boston...then we'd have home ice thoughout the playouts if things stay as they are

I agree. I'm glad he's going to play again but he doesn't seem to be a fit here. I'd rather they bring up Downey.

I have seen this and agree that they really step it up when the game has meaning but it is a bad habit to fall into if you only play hard when the games have meaning. They should be playing that hard all the time. On reason, IMO, would be for conditioning.

It's just that we see so many of these threads even when we are winning. I'm not trying to single anyone out or offend anyone, and yes there are valid points, some just go to the extremes.

I've hated "Americas Team" since they beat the Lions 5 - 0 in the playoffs in 1970 (field goal/safety). I don't really hate them but the few times we have beat them, it makes up for the rest of the Lions sucky seasons. Anyway they're just jealous. In one ear, out the other. I know that I'm a dedicated, loyal Wings fan and they can call me (us) azzholes all they want. We know it isn't true. Well at least the majority of us aren't

Even my wife stopped what she was doing to watch him in the skills competition last night. He genuinely loves the game and all that encompasses it both on and off the ice. And while Crosby may the love the game just as much, he sure doesn't show it. Ovie looks like he's having a great time and that rubs off on people. edit (sp)

I agree. They do it in football. Who wants to risk injury to their star players during the season anyway. Granted they don't play as hard but the risk is still there. Move the ASG to sometime after the season is over. Rest up wings!!!
