I think Ozzie played harder when Hasek was here. I'm not saying Ozzie isn't trying as hard this year. It's just hard to tell with the D the way is is right now. I miss him a little but I've always been an Ozzie fan and was real happy he was there last year to take over in the playoffs. I think Ozzie/Conklin is a good combo. Hasek was great but his time had come.

I was pretty irritated on how every time Crosby touched the puck the level of excitement in their voices would almost make one think they were nearing the end of a sexual excursion. Still I had the option of turning the sound down and turning up the radio. Unfortunately, the satellite feeds were off a bit. My wife says I have selective hearing. Maybe I should try using that when watching a game on VS. Edit: (sp)

I figure it will never happen, but what about Homer? He is the best at what he does in front of the net. He may not be the best skater or whatever but because of him, a lot of goals get scored... and I do mean a lot!

I was watching NHL network last night and they are promoting heavily Hockey Fights Cancer. I got to thinking, Why not have players who fight be require to pay say. $500 into the hockey fights cancer charity. That way, no one can complain about the fighting(although some will find a way) because they are doing it for charity. Just a thought

It's still pretty early in the season, plus, there have been a lot of turnovers and the D still isn't up to their usual awesome norm. With that, we are still 7-1-1. Can't wait until everyone is at the top of their game.

I do hope the grind line steps it up. It would be nice to see them in acton again. If not, I think you keep McCarty around as an "asst. trainer" to teach some of the young-uns how to fight. I think Malts has earned the right to retire in Detroit but should be prepared for many healthy scratches.

I don't see why they can't just rotate Hossa and Z every few games. It would keep the opposition guessing from game to game and give Hossa a chance to knock a few heads around with Franzen. edit sp

I don't see how you can hold her responsible for the carpet. They have ceremonial puck drops all the time. If it had been Biden, most of you would be blaming Legace's clumsiness. I do agree that while they are campaining they should not be doing appearances at sporting events. When I go to a game I don't want to have to think about politics. On a different note, I told SI I wouldn't be renewing my subscription as they seem to want to bring politics into it and show their bias at the same time. Yes Palin was booed in Philly, but they cheered her in St Louis although there was no mention of it, only how somehow Legacy tripping over carpet is her fault. of course to be fair, they probably weren't cheering once they found out Legacy was injured...but still, not her fault. I don't buy sports magazines to hear about their politices just like if I go to a concert and they preach their politics to me, I don't buy any more of their cds. I go to these events for what they are, not to have someone push their politics on to me. K done ranting.

Finally got my Chelios jersey yesterday. Ordered it Sept. 14th when I thought I was getting Z's but oh well, It's awesome!!!! The only problem is I ordered 2, one for the wife, so now I still have to deal with them. And yes they, didn't ship it til I started complaining but it only took 5 days after that to receive it. I hope getting the other one isn't going to be as difficult but at the same time, it's still a great deal.

I wouldn't trade either one of them for Crosby. Both D and Z are two way players, they both fit well in our system, not that Crosby wouldn't, and they don't whine.
