    3/11 GDT: Red Wings 3, Blackhawks 1

We were really good tonight...shouldn't have been as close as it was. A few defensive breakdowns but otherwise, no complaints from me. Everyone seems to be playing with a ton of confidence. Maltby and Drake were both awesome.

    3/9 GDT: Red Wings 4, Predators 3

Well I only saw the last 10 minutes of the 2nd period of this game because I worked through the first and fell asleep through the third (kinda glad about that). Can't really comment on the game as a whole but it's great to see Nick back and great to see some of our secondary scorers step it up. It's about time Hudler broke the slump, to me he's been much better in the past 5 or so games. Glad we picked up another win, looking forward to Tuesday.

Haha, classic finish to a pretty boring game. I like Downey a lot, he's a great guy to have on the team even if he doesn't play all that much. Good victory, let's keep 'em coming.

    3/2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Sabres 2

Great game. It was entertaining and obviously the result makes me happy. I have a lot of good things to say about this game. First of all, Franzen was a BEAST tonight. He was all over the ice making plays. Great to see him score a goal, I like him a lot. Tonight was probably the best I've ever seen him play. Kronwall was fantastic as well. A lot of our chances were created as a result of him. In general, it was great to see our secondary scoring step it up tonight. Great to see Malts put one home. Even though a lot of people here think he no longer has a role on this team, I still like him. He's a great character guy. It was also awesome to see him mix it up with some of the Buffalo guys. Haven't seen that kind of fire from him in some time. On that note, I liked the response from our team tonight in the scrums (aside from when everyone stopped playing defense on the 2nd goal). We showed some true character tonight, it gives me some hope going into the playoffs. Also, is it just me or did our defense block an unusually high amount of shots tonight? Lilja's goal saver obviously stands out, but it seemed to me like we were blocking tons of shots, way more than usual. I loved it. Great game all around, not a lot to complain about. Looking forward to the next one.

    2/29 GDT: Sharks 2, Red Wings 2

I didn't think we were bad by any stretch. They had us running around in our own zone a couple times, but otherwise I thought we were decent. We had some good chances in the 3rd but Nabokov (and Vlasic on the one play) turned us aside. I think it was a game we could have easily won. Other than their goals, I don't really remember any great chances that the Sharks had.

Ugh. I won't comment on the SJ goal. We played pretty well tonight. Stuart looked pretty sharp. Hudler was MUCH better tonight than he has been in awhile. I think we're getting back on track here.

2/26 GDT: Oilers 4, Red Wings 3 (SO)

Bit of a heartbreaker after a nice comeback. Datsyuk and Zetterberg were awesome in the last 25 minutes. I was hoping that Hudler would score in the shootout and suddenly find his scoring touch but...nope. Lilja was pretty bad tonight. Well, at least we got a point, I guess. Thanks Ozzie.

    2/23 GDT: Canucks 4, Red Wings 1

Ahhh, painful game to watch. Doesn't help that I have to be at work in less than 8 hours either thanks to the late start. I know we have a lot of players out of the lineup, but it's hard to feel good about this team right now. It was barely a month ago when we were hardly concerned at all heading into the trade deadline. Crazy how quickly things can change. Anyways, the game. Howard was good, our defense was good for what it was (way too many turnovers though, and none of them can hold the blueline yet on the PP) and our offense sucked again. I hope we trade Hudler, that guy is so useless. So this is what it feels like to have a crappy team. First time that I can remember living through a tough stretch like this. Just goes to show how spoiled we are as Red Wing fans. Get healthy, boys.

    2/22 GDT: Flames 1, Red Griffins 0

I hate losing on a crappy goal like they did tonight, but with our top 4 defencemen not playing most of the game, I'd say we did alright. Ozzie was really good. This just really felt like another one of those playoff games to me where we couldn't beat a great goalie no matter how hard we tried. Hopefully by the time we get all our players back, it'll be just about playoff time and that'll give us a big emotional boost.

Lidstrom injury aside, this was pretty much exactly what we needed. Good game. I thought Chelios really stepped up once Nick went down.

    2/17 GDT: Stars 1, Red Wings 0

I've always liked Pierre Maguire and typically he praises Detroit's style and skill. I don't know what his problem has been lately though but he seems to be wanting us to lose. Whatever. Bit of a tough pill to swallow today, at least Howard was great. Gotta take the good with the bad. I look at it this way, once we get over this slump we will be much better off than if we just continued to keep winning straight through to the playoffs. It's a good test. I'm definitely not enjoying it though...

2/15 GDT: Blue Jackets 5, Red Wings 1

Yeah, this game alone pretty much convinved Pierre Maguire that Columbus is a serious threat to win the West and that Detroit will struggle to get out of the first round. I like Pierre (seems like I'm one of the few), but he was being a bit dramatic tonight. Wasn't a fun game to watch from our perspective. Ozzie must feel horrible getting pulled again, not that it was his fault. On the bright side, Howard looks good. It's been awhile since I've felt this bad after a regular season game.

    2/10 GDT: Ducks 3, Red Wings 2

How many times is that now where we have a goal taken away on a phantom goalie interference call on Homer? Pretty frustrating, I just pray nothing like this happens in the playoffs. Anyways, only caught the 3rd period, but it was a good one for the Wings. Solid effort coming back. Nothing you can do about a brutal call like that. If the puck enters the net and the referee waves it off, it should be mandatory for him to take a second look at the replay. It's just dumb that a referee can't reverse his call once it's been made. Imagine if the Stanley Cup was decided like this...there would be chaos. I can't wait for these teams to meet in the playoffs though. I like how we showed tonight that we can still match them physically.

2/9 GDT: Maple Leafs 3, Red Wings 2 (OT)

Such a shame that these teams only play once a year. I'm probably going to miss this game. Wings should win, but you just never know which side of Toronto is going to show up. If we score early, we'll win.

    Trade suggested on SI.com

Tucker is not one of my favourite players...but I like what he brings to the table. I don't know how much he is making this season, but he could be a good pickup for the right price. He tends to take stupid penalties at bad times though, that's one thing we don't need. If he could remain fairly disciplined in the playoffs, I'd take a chance on him.

    2/1 GDT: Red Wings 2, Avalanche 0

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this game and was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. A real playoff-type atmosphere, I thought. We completely dominated. I hope this is how we play every game in the playoffs. Budaj was fantastic.

    World Junior Semi-Finals

Can't wait for either game, they should be good. I'm pretty nervous about the Canada/USA game, Canada has not been impressive at all in this tournament so far. However I think a game against the Americans could be just what they need to get things going. I hope Mason can bounce back from an awful game against Finland. I think Sweden beats Russia 4-3. No prediction for the Canada/US game, it's too tight to call. I just pray it's not decided in another shootout (I don't think I can take it).

    Who do we fear

Vancouver scares me more than any other team because of Luongo alone. Other than that, I'd be a little nervous if we played Anaheim.

11/24 GDT: Blue Jackets 3, Red Wings 2 (SO)

Chill guys, we only lost in a shootout. Thanks to Lilja and Ozzie for the point. At least it was a really exciting game to watch. But seriously, those Columbus announcers are really annoying. They enjoy saying "Nicky Zherdev" just a little too much. I think I'm going to actually count how many times they say his name the next time we play Columbus.

    10/6 GDT: Blackhawks 4, Wings 3 (SO)

Wow, some people are being a bit dramatic here. Yeah it sucks that we had a goal taken away, but I guess it's better for it to happen now in the second game of the season than in April. I doubt the single point we lost tonight will come back to haunt us at the end of the season. Figures that Lang scores the tying goal though.

    2007 Super Series

I am very excited for this tournament. The World Jrs. are in my opinion the best hockey you can watch, and it's going to be like we're watching the gold medal game 8 times. I just hope it's a close series. GO CANADA GO!

Favourite Moment of the 06/07 Regular Season?

Since I don't get to see most Red Wings regular season games, my favourite moment is kind of limited, so it's sort of a no brainer for me. The Yzerman retirement ceremony. The game afterwards was one of the most boring I watched all season, but the ceremony was awesome. I have a couple of moments though that don't involve the Wings: 1) That EDM - DAL game where Stefan had the empty net on a breakaway and fell down, and Edmonton took the puck back up the ice and scored with a second left. Then I believe the Oilers ended up winning in a shootout. 2) The NJ - NYI game at the very end of the season. This one was exciting for me because I was at my uncle's place with a bunch of family members who were all Leaf fans. Toronto needed NJ to win to make the playoffs. They were down 2-1 I believe in the 3rd and I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure NJ tied it up with a couple of seconds left. Then the game went to a shootout, and the Isles ended up winning, but it was really exciting. I would have loved to see a Leafs/Sabres series.

Wings sign Drake for 1-year, $550K

I like this signing. There's no risk involved because of the price tag, so even if he stinks it up it's not a big deal. Any player (well, almost any player) that can bring some grit to this team will be welcomed by me. So, pretty much safe to say we're done with the free agents? I've been looking for something to use as a signature for a long time, and you have just given it to me. Thank you!

Great news. Let's just hope that he stays healthy.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Wow, this is horrible. Even if he didn't do that much in the playoffs, he was our only big body. And it's just salt in the wounds that he goes to ANAHEIM of all places. So now who do we go after?
