The only mention of hockey whatsoever was "Dallas Stars" in the Austin paragraph. Not surprising, but lame. Good read though, I enjoy these kinds of articles.

Jesus, we win the Stanley Cup and people still ***** about who we should have signed. He should fit nicely in Philly.
-
Anyone else EXTREMELY happy that we won't have to hear the Columbus play by play guy rant about the greatness of NICKY ZHERDEV! anymore?
-
I always thought he never got a fair chance in Toronto. He looked uncomfortable in net. I expect him to be much better for the Avs.
-
He's still a good player. He played well in the playoffs whether or not we like to admit it. There will definitely be some interest.
-
Way too many CHLs these days. I guess we're going to find out if he's really in it to win or if he's in it for the money.
-
I'm disappointed that he's leaving, but he deserves it. Best of luck to him, except against us.

I thought they were going to be actual guests. I don't think they were on the air for even 2 minutes. Hardly worth it. Should have went on Conan instead.

Red Wings and Babcock agree to three year contract
adtthosa replied to PRStoetzer's topic in General
Great news. If you ask me, he's the best coach in the NHL. -
This was the right decision. Thanks for the memories Dom, you've been a great player and a great teammate.

Drake, Draper and Datsyuk all got penalties for what were basically body checks. Datsyuk got interference for hitting Staal, who had the puck. Explain that one. The officiating in these playoffs was truly some of the worst I have ever seen, but the refs are only human and will always make mistakes. All we can do is live with it. ....which is a lot easier to do when you WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!!!!!!!!

GDT 2008 SCF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Penguins 2
adtthosa replied to aflac9262's topic in Hall of Fame
Man, I got so much to say. I feel like one of the players, can't describe the feeling. Been watching this team from game 1 and to see them go all the way is something special. GO WINGS GO BABY THE CUP IS BACK WHERE IT BELONGS -
I will say that I am impressed with Babcock in his press conference. He will have this team ready to play in the next game. This really stings though. I liken this game to being kicked in the nuts, falling down, getting back up and being kicked in the nuts again. I am devastated right now. So tired but I can't sleep. If we lose this series, I'm gonna have a real hard time following this team next season. It's just so hard to get this far and then when you finally do and something like this happens....it's such an awful feeling.
-
Worst day of my life, seriously. I wish we never made that comeback. At least I would be sleeping right now and our players wouldn't be completely drained. f***. THIS SUCKS. CAN"T EVEN THINK STRAIGHT.

I felt the exact same way. The calls on us were being made and for the most part they were good calls but Pittsburgh was doing tons of the same stuff we did and got nothing for it. That Franzen penalty was dumb, all he did was skate towards the net and stop. Hard to be mad about officiating though when we're one game away from winning it all.

Guaranteed Therrien will whine about obstruction again, even though I thought we got the short end of the stick on obstruction calls tonight. I didn't like the call on either of the penalties that led to the 5 on 3 either. All I have to say about that is Zetterberg was amazing. Serious man love tonight for Ozzie, Hudler and Lebda. Ozzie was fantastic when called upon, espescially at the end. My heart was in my throat during those last few chances. It was awesome seeing how excited Hudler was to score that goal. He has been so good in this run. Ledba played the best game I have ever seen from him, he was seriously amazing. Monday night can not come quick enough.
-
Wow, such a tragedy if this is true. I remember him being very steady for the Canadian junior team, and will never forget the goal he scored against the Americans in that shootout game. What a terrible loss. R.I.P.
-
What a great hockey game. If we continue to play this hard, we will win two more. If not for that bad giveaway by Stuart in the first, I think we win tonight.
-
Wow, we played an AMAZING game today. Malkin and Steven Crosby (anybody else catch that? haha) can't score if they can't get the puck. We must have had the puck for 15 of 20 minutes in the 2nd period. I'm just really glad that poor call on Homer didn't cost us. Hopefully we got the gratuitous goalie interference call out of the way in Game 1 with no harm done. Sammy, what can I say? He was awesome tonight. Great individual effort on the first goal. Second goal was probably the first time I've ever seen him hit somebody and look what it lead to. Then after that he had a huge shot block. Really glad to see him step up. Speaking of which, Flip had easily his best game of the playoffs. Cleary was great as well, and his playoff beard is just bitchin'. I could honestly compliment every player on our team; Osgood, Stuart, Lilja all stood out for me too. Fleury was by far the Penguins' best player. Can't wait for Monday night.

Awesome win. The changes that Babcock made to the lineup worked great I thought. Hudler provided some spark for our 2nd line, as I thought Cleary and Filppula played their best games of the playoffs. Lilja was also pretty steady filling in for Chelios. It was awesome to see Drapes and Drake score, they have been awesome in these playoffs. Hard to believe this is Drake's first trip to the finals. Ozzy had another stellar game, espescially the third period. The whole team was really good tonight actually. If the officiating wasn't piss poor, there's no way it would have been as close as it was. CBC said the finals start Saturday which is way too far away, but I'm not working so sweeeet. Should be an awesome series, can't wait.

I had a horrible day at work (had to miss the game) and it certainly didn't get any better when my buddy texted me the final score. Kind of glad I missed the game actually, but I'm pretty rattled that we lost. I just want to close them out....if we lose in 7, I will actually cry.
-
Will we ever win 10 in a row? Nope. We would have if that first goal wasn't waved off on a reputation call (seriously, why are these plays not reviewable?!?!?). How many times have we had a goal waved off this year when it shouldn't have been? Frustrating to lose a game that we probably would have won had the refs not been looking for something that wasn't there. Ozzy was good, D + Z were good, Sammy was good I thought, actually most of the team played pretty well. I give the Stars credit for coming out hard but I really think we deserved to win tonight. When Dallas wasn't on the PP, we were the better team. I'm also pretty pissed that I have to work Saturday afternoon so I'll have to miss the next one.
-
Had to work, caught the last 10 minutes. Usually in a 4-2 game I would still be nervous in the last 10 minutes, but we just completely conttrolled the play. I don't think Osgood even had to make a save. Our defense is too good. Congrats to Datsyuk, that play by Z was amazing. Pretty much sums up the series, one Detroit player beats 4 Dallas players. I have to start giving props to Hudler too. I wanted him gone at the trade deadline, but he has stepped up in a HUGE way. Can't wait for Wednesday.

I just got a text from TSN.ca that reads: "Mike Ribiero, Steve Ott, Chris Osgood and Kris Draper fined for Game 2 actions" I thought, Draper? This makes no sense. They sent a correction text like 5 seconds ago that said Draper was not fined. Nothing on the website yet, but it looks like no suspensions and an undeserved fine for Ozzy. Way to go league. It was Ron MacLean who said it, but I don't think he realizes that it's not the first time it's been done this year. He was in the zamboni entrance just as he was in previous games this year when he swung it, so it should be fine.
