Seriously pull Howard to spark this team, this is horrible play for a close out game at home by the wings.

Wings need to stop giving the refs reasons to make calls. When you are gifted multiple PP's to start the game you have to realize the refs are going to even up the calls eventually.

It was a case of two players clutching and grabbing each other and Z happened to fall. The first part of it could have been interference on Z.

Malkin hit the post and they went insane. On the other end the sens missed a wide open net and they acted like nothing happened. I was working on something and had it on in the background. By the tone of their voices you could tell the Pens were in the Offensive zone. Not so much for the sens.

This is why this rule drives me crazy. The NHL just has a bunch of inconsistent rules all over the place. Hell if you watched that NHL rules DVD on kicking, it adds stuff that is not even listed in the official rulebook on the website!!!

It is horribly inconsistent. I am not sure of the full reason it is in place, but the major one that comes to mind is injuries to the goaltender or other players. If you put the injury part into play, players are always kicking the puck to jar it free along the boards. If it is there to just protect the goalie, then make it so any contact by a skate in the crease should be a no-goal. Question if a player kicks the puck into his own net with a distinct kicking motion, is it considered a goal?

I think that would make a perfect sharpie commercial for the small pens that clip onto the key chain. Show a clip of a kid on the ice asking OV for autograph, Kid has no pen. OV skates away returns showers him with snow and proceeds to board the kid. Show another clip of a kid with the sharpie pen and OV calmly signs his gear, and gives him an autographed stick. Marketing Gold!

The ones they did show as good goals were 10 times worse than the one foligno "kicked" in.

CBC showed the rules DVD, given to the officials showing that a goal like that is a good goal. That was not a distinct kicking motion. I don't get how it has dropped this far to where angling your skate while stopping is a kick.

That's hilarious CBC just showed the rules DVD, and put the NHL on the spot. I hate this league with a passion if it was not for the wings, I may not care for NHL hockey.

We have a 93 on our team, I see that number in the penalty box once in a while. My eyes must be deceiving me though, because I see no 93 on the ice.

That would be my guess. If the mask is off the ref has to call the play dead, so he should have intent no matter what.
