Is there any site that keeps track of this stat or icing stats in general? In this series (and season) I've noticed a lot of times the wing's break out passes go wide, and sail down the ice for an icing. I'm curious to know what the avg is for the league, and if other teams commit the same amount.

lol I found some icing stats from last year and 3.5 icings a game was their avg. I guess I'm lumping the passes that are basically turnovers into the icings haha

I'd say they have at least 15-20 unforced icings a game. Say the wings win 50% of those faceoffs that's almost 10 extra offensive posessions for their opponent a game while the wings are losing possible posessions in the offensive zone. It's frustrating to watch, and I basically count it as a turnover even if they win the ensuing faceoff.

I'm getting sick of these dirty plays, in trying to eliminate fighting they've let this cheap stuff creep into play. The refs are so worried about trying to stop potential fights stuff goes unnoticed behind their backs. -

If glendening has an I inured thumb he would have been out there playing to end the game, this is the playoffs. I would not be surprised if it's worse than that. -

Did he I swear redmond said Babcock was using it before the 5on3 maybe he miss spoke and meant Tampa. Oh well still would have likes that timeout after the first goal -

Babcock is the worst at using time outs. Oh let's use it to group our offense before a 5on3 so later when they score and the wings are on their heels, it's gone. you could see their style of play change at the 10 minute mark -

This team probably has 20-25 unforced icings a game. Just giving free possessions to the lightning in their zone -

The NHL has refs pick and choose when to call penalties, that is not acceptable. That was the most obvious slash in the corner and it was not called. -

Wtf was that last 8 mins. What was with the wings sending one man on some of the breaks. Just giving the puck back to Tampa. They are a puck possession team! You can't do that! Also Babcock using his timeout before the 5on3 in the second was idiotic. -
