I'm surprised that this gets the worst ice award. They don't transition this arena to basketball like a lot of the arenas around the league, so it should stay pretty fresh except for perhaps the occasional concert or trade show. I thought an arena like Carolina or Washington would get the worst ice surface since they have a lot of business other than hockey in their arenas which might lead to deteriorating ice.

Considering the Leafs make more money than most teams with TV rights and other things I'm kind of surprised that they are raising prices. Maybe they're being pinched in areas we don't know about?

Hopefully we won't have to worry about the game being pre-empted now. HAHA!

Virginia here. What's interesting about me becoming a detroit fan is that I used to hate the Red Wings. Then, I met a girl from Detroit and she was a big red wings fan. I never hated other Detroit teams (Lions, Tigers, Pistons) but the Red Wings were the hardest to overcome. then, the lockout happened and the year absence. That time off sort of allowed the hate for the Wings to evaporate. Anyway, we got married in the lockout year, and we sort of took a break from hockey because of the lockout. We started watching the playoffs this year to kind of 'reconnect' to hockey. It's been fun. I've become connected with Detroit sports more since getting married, with the Tigers incredible run last season and the Pistons doing well for the most part. Hopefully the Wings can turn it around and win this series with the Sharks.

Kornholio spews his hatred for hockey all the time. He does write about the Caps in his Washington Post column once in a while but only when they're doing bad or if something bad happened. Kornholio has become a caricature, really. As far as ATH, Woody Paige is noted on divealanche.com as a Colorado homer, so he knows hockey a little. Cowlishaw at leasts tries to pimp hockey once in a while. The rest of the panel is garbage. Jim Rome, although he's annoying, at leasts pimps hockey when he can. He gets the game.

Does this plane fly into Metro or into Willow Run? I wonder what terminal they fly into if it's Metro? Berry?

Super n00b here with some thoughts: I don't think the Red Wings need to be worried. I think the addition of a healthy Bertuzzi has added some needed physical play that they could use. As long as the Wings hold serve at home things will be fine. The Shark Tank is a tough place to play. As tough as the Saddlebagdome.
