You have to wonder how many contenders are even looking at this guy anymore. Most of the top tier teams have either no flexibility or desire to make this move. New York and Montreal maybe, but the Rangers might test the free agency market instead, and Montreal just sent away their two biggest bargaining chips. Plus I'm sure Murray would like to keep him out of the Northeast Division if at all possible. Chicago has cap room, but it seems like their main focus is locking up all their RFAs and Havlat, plus they can start negotiating with Kane and Toews this year. Really, the only teams that have alot of flexibility are the bottom feeder teams like LA and Edmonton. It'll be interesting to see where this ends up

I wish I had money to spend TPBM drives an American car and is proud of it

Figure it out because it's the burly man way of doing things. But usually I get frustrated, throw it down, and cry in a dark room for extended periods of time...... American Eagle or Walmart?

Sully made around 2.5 mil last year, I'm not sure what he was asking for. From what I hear, Sully wanted a 4 year deal and the Preds were hesitant to sign him for more than 1-2. As far as the injury concerns, he was healthy after coming back from that lengthy absence and started picking up towards the end of the season. I think he'd only be a target if both Sammy and Hudler split. I would love to see us go after Ward or Fiddler though

It was a good run. Wish him the best wherever he ends up.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
RedFX replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Come to think of it, has Kenny even made a qualifying offer to Hudler? My understanding of the rule is that if an RFA does not get a qualifying offer before free agency starts, that nullifies his team's negotiating rights, essentially making him unrestricted. If this is correct, than Hudler can basically go anywhere, and we would receive no compensation. Any info on this? -
Chris Neil would be a great fit. But he is NOT worth much more than 1.7 million.

Was he arrested for the barfight or for wearing that shirt?

Maybe we should sign Marcel Hossa... -
David Poile (Preds GM) said Heatley rubbed alot of GMs the wrong way by making his trade demands public. Alot of people really underestimate how much that can really screw over the process

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

I've just been told the NHL has discontinued the salary cup. Also, I'm hearing that Bettman has resigned, and the Tigers have won the World Series -

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
RedFX replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Easier said than done. It's obvious Hossa was a big part in the huge goal increase this season. So who can take on those extra 40 goals to keep the output on pace? -
Word from down here is that the Preds are likely to part with several key UFAs due to salary concerns. While Sullivan is probably not an option (likely to resign anyway), three people caught my eye as seemingly ideal fits to fill the third or fourth lines. Joel Ward.....came out of nowhere during training camp and made the roster. By the end of the year was a Top 6 forward and developed a knack for making clutch plays (burned us a few times last year). Good skater, creates alot of turnovers. Scott Nichol.....had some injuries last year, but when he's healthy, he's been one of the Preds best penalty killers. When I see him play I actually think of a slightly smaller Drake. Little guy, plays physical, great on faceoffs, can provide alot of energy out there. (PS, he also fights . ) Vern Fiddler.....I like Fiddler, possesses a great physical presence for a guy his size. A speedy skater, GREAT on the forecheck, creates alot of turnovers. Also solid PK skills. While these guys won't light the lamp every night, they all add some grit and energy to the team. They'd add some good depth to the 3rd and 4th lines. Having watched them, I thought these three might fit in well here. It's likely we can get any of these guys for a million or less. Any thoughts?

These guys are probably some of the most realistic options out there

Is that before or after the potential Hossa deal?

Man, going back to 3rd has really rejuvenated Brandon this year!
