This basically sounds like a confirmation that Ellis is remaining in Nashville. Today's paper had an article saying that the crowded goaltender situation was a major concern for Ellis.

When you win the Cup, you don't want to mess with your team too much. The Wings have their core, so I don't see getting a Jagr/Sundin type guy, especially with both Z and Mule becoming UFA's next year. If Filuplla goes elsewhere however, I can see someone like Rolston or Demitra coming in. If all we do this year is lock up Stuart and Flip and maybe bring in one or two role players, I'll consider it an extremely successful offseason.

The play of Darren Helm over these playoffs all but guaranteed himself a spot on next year's roster. So what happens then to the man he replaced, Tomas Kopecky? I really thought in the month before he was injured that he was really starting to improve his game.

I like how he didn't mention the Wings once besides the "enjoy the Cup" comment.

First off, who would have thought that Sykora would've actually scored after calling it? Second, you can't blame the refs for that last goal. It was the right call. I would've been pissed if it was off one of those goalie interference calls. That second line D-pair was just plain awful. Turnover after turnover-Stuart was an absolute wreck. Babs will have to address that. On the flip side, I was really impressed with Lebda tonight. He has really stepped up his game over these last few weeks. This game came down to missed chances. We finally penetrate the slot (hey-o), and we end up missing the goal or misfiring. I can think of 7 times off the top of my head that the Cup should have been ours. Bottom line, this is a veteran team. And as a veteran team, you know they can easily get past this. How many times have we come away from a loss like this thinking we were screwed, and then watched as we dominate the next game? Home or away, I have confidence that we will get this done.

McCarty's comeback may be one of the most inspirational stories in Red Wings history. However, this is the finals and you have to play your best players. McCarty just isn't on top of his game right now.

When he scored the second goal, I was somehow reminded of the end of the 3rd Mighty Ducks movie when Goldberg scores the winning goal: "YEEEEEEEEAHHHH!!! WOOOOOOH!.................Goldberg?!?....................GOLDBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
