How so exactly are we going to simulate this? If we used NHL 08, we would have to have one person controlling and simulating the games. If different people did it we'd get a bunch of different results. We'd have to have one guy controlling all 30 teams (if that's possible, I know it is on Madden). And if its not, how are we gonna handle trades, because the Simmed GM's can decline trades and all that. Also, if we used 08, be sure to update player ratings. I say that because on my game, Dan Ellis is rated 58, Franzen is 71, Emery is like a 91, you get the picture. Also, guys like Lucic, Backstrom, and Settuguchi aren't even on the game. So that's something we'd have to figure out. WhatIfSports.com is another possibilty. I know the Tennessean did something like this back during the lockout season.

I'll second that. Zetterberg is the future of this franchise and the only thing that would be suicide is letting him walk. He gets a big deal, my prediction is the biggest one in Red Wings history.

Journeymen are more like Dallas Drake or Darren McCarty. Someone like Roenick or Nolan might be considered one as well. Someone who is in the last couple years of their career and tends to get the 1-year deals. Alot of those journeymen would fall under mid-level, Recchi would probably be an exception. If it looks like it would be an unfair advantage, you'd have to change it. That's up to the other agents and the other advisors.

If Osgood finishes out the seasonas #1, Hasek's done (at least here). As much as the Wings really want Stuart back, I see him going somewhere else. If Stuart goes, I think Lilja will stay. Cheli will be back for one more. Downey's gone. It sucks but I'm thinking realisticly. Filpulla will be signed, but it will be at a much higher price Holland wants. I think Drake will retire. McCarty should be back for at least another year. Hartigan's gone. Stafford's a maybe. But considering our depth already at D, I wouldn't be suprised if he's gone Ericsson, Howard, Quincey will all be back. Quincey perhaps a one-way deal

I will repeat support for the two-seaso system. Maybe over the summer we use EHM/NHL 08 and then use the actual 08-09 stats for the second season. And if that's the case, do we start actually playing games after the Finals, and the offseason is now til then? Also, if anyone still wants to play, I'm looking for an assistant GM for Nashville. If Dallas is good enough to beat Anaheim and San Jose, they're good enough to beat the Wings.

And we used 2002 as our battle cry last year.... The point is you can't judge a series based on previous years. Now this series is far from over, but to me I realisticly don't see Colorado stealing this one. I wouldn't be suprised if they took one of the next two, but I don't see them taking the series. Detroit is just the better team.

There's such a thing as having confidence and staying on a sinking ship. Jose is rattled, the Wings know how to beat him. If they get one or two early ones past Jose in Game 3, this series is over, regardless of who plays in the remaining games.

I was talking about a Wings logo on a Colorado......never mind I know that, they don't. There is a huge population in Tennessee that cheer/follow both teams.

That seems kinda ironic in itself. But regarding your post, every time I turn on the radio or TV, I hear about the Red Wings fans and orginazation are classless, and how much they suck. When a team has won more Stanley Cups than you have playoff wins, I probably would back up on this "suck" talk. And I'm not sure how this rivalry got so huge in the eyes of the Preds fans. I guess just because when we were the back to back champs when the team started. I do remember there being some bad blood between the teams early on, but nothing on the scale of Lemieux-Draper-McCarty. One of my friends at school said that being a fan of both the Wings and the Preds is like being a fan of both Michigan and Ohio State. Naturally I had to have the better response so I said it was more like being a fan of both Michigan and Grand Valley State. And I'll repeat what's already said, but I love living here. The city is beautiful and most of the time the people are great.
