Nah I graduated last year. We've been in the Preds Cup tournament a few times, but never made it to the finals (which is the game held at Sommet). Our school actually won in 2000, but that was before my time. And I wasn't trying to defend those types of fans (if it came off that way I'm sorry). Like I said before, I hate those chants, and I always get a kick when we shut them up. I was just getting upset because alot of people were referring to the fan base as a whole, rather than those select individuals.

Oooo PredFX that's clever. Good use of the rhyming dictionary Not like it concerns you or anything, but I'm a Wings fan first and foremost. I was born in Ypsi and was raised by die hard Wings fans. I live in Franklin now (since I was 8) and two years later the Preds came to town. And yeah, I do cheer for the Preds (when they don't play us), And just to avoid any confucion, no I don't like all the you suck chants and Chelios is a Sissy. I think they're stupid, which is why I don't do them. And when they started the Red Wings Suck chant, I responded with the We're In First chant. I don't like people generalizing that all people and fans here are cheap and classless, because the large majority are not. I've played hockey here all through high school, and as a result I've been able to meet alot of great hockey fans, people that know and respect. And alot of fans are like me, and they hate those chants to. Like I've said a million times before, every fanbase has their classless bunch. I don't like people attacking an entire fanbase based on a select group of their fans. It could be aimed at Nashville or Anaheim or Tampa Bay or Djurgarden and I would still say something about it. Pistons fans brawled with the Pacers, but that doesn't mean all their fans are thugs. 6-3. We won. And we have more to worry about than what people's fans say during games. I say take a page out of the players. Who cares? Play the game and ignore it. Chants don't win games. Unless you truly are starting to believe that the Red Wings suck or Chelios is a sissy, let it go.

Would everyone stop bitching about the fans and just be happy we won the game.

Just got back from the game. It was absolutely amazing, and the guys played great tonight. When Mason and Hasek started jawing I almost lost it. A few observations, Hasek played great, and the defense was stellar aside from a few bad lapses in the third (Lebda had some BAD turnovers). Franzen played a great all around game, and that goal just made my night. I really don't understand Trotz's move to pull Ellis in the 2nd. The first goal was pretty bad, but he had little chance on the second goal. I thought he actually did pretty good until that point. I was real impressed with Derek Meech, he's got some great speed and he plays physical. And Maltby just got screwed on that empty net. Again, please don't make generalizations about the fans like that. You don't live here, you don't know the people. Don't make comments like that.

Part 1 I had the honor of being in attendance when Stevie Y got his 600th goal against Edmonton. Part 2 I live in Nashville, and even though I cheer for the Preds (when they don't play us) I still get a lot of crap from my friends for being a Wings fan. At the games (DET vs. NSH) most of the Preds fans I end up sitting next to are pretty cool, I have had some instances. The two that stand out in my mind was when a 5 year old told me I sucked, and when an old lady told me I sucked.

From ESPN I know the whole Pronger vs. Simon thing raised a big issue on here. I kinda like the solution here. Put the process through the media; let the fans know why a player was suspended, their view of the incident, why they were given that many games. This would create alot less controversey.

Wow. So I guess there is some good in Pronger.

I don't want to play Vancouver, because for some reason we've had bad luck when it comes to the first round and hot goaltenders. Colorado would be fun and it would probably help to restore the rivalry, but the way they've been playing the past two weeks, we might want to wait. Personally, I'd take Minnesota or Nashville. Close proximity, and we've had good success against both teams.

Looking at the time on ice tonight. Anyone else think Babs is losing faith in Lebda? Only 9 minutes of ice time tonight. A big hit considering he was getting 20 minutes earlier in the year. I know adding Stuart put him back on the depth chart, but 9 minutes?

It doesn't matter if he got hurt or not, the intent to injure was still there. There is definitely a double standard amongst the league towards its superstars. You put Scott Nichol or Jordin Tootoo in Pronger's spot and its a 15-20 game suspension.

And something else. Don't call someone 'a piece of crap human' unless you actually know that person. I've actually had the honor of meeting Jordin Tootoo and he's one of the friendliest, most down-to-Earth guys you will meet. Say what you will about someone's play on the ice, but don't comment about their personal life unless you actually know the person, because JT is actually a great person.

With tonights win, Detroit has surpassed the 100-point mark for the 8th straight season. This ties the NHL record set by the Habs (75-82). Really is a statement of the franchise when you can keep up that strong play year after year.

That may have been the most douchebag thing I've ever heard anyone say ever. You can dislike a player all you want, but saying s*** like that is just a ***** move. That without a doubt crossed the line.

Word is Babcock kicked Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Lidstrom out of the Red Wings locker room because they are not worthy of Downey's presence.
