You know your a Red Wings fan if you don't watch the draft until the fourth round.

http://www.nashvillepredators.com/pressbox...p?story_id=1367 Leipold on the subject Two things that throw me off here. Within the last week, the Preds signed a multi-year naming rights agreement with a local company, and purchased a new 30 million dollar scoreboard. I know the signs of relocation are there, but why would the ownership sign all these deals if we're leaving in a year?

One guy that would be relatively cheap but would be a great addition is Scott Hartnell. He's that power forward that we need and once more, he would provide that big right-hand shot that Shanny and Hull used to provide. He's wasn't the Red Wings favorite guy, but he would be a great fit.

You know what happened March 26.

It's not just the fan support, I'm talking about business support as well. Most companies there already throw millions of dollars to the Leafs, Sens, and Canadiens. I doubt theyre going to throw around another couple of million for some random team coming in. Remember the Senators a few years ago? No the clause says that as long as average paid attendance is above 14000, the team cannot move. Hopefully, the fans will come out and support this team.

One thing I appreciate from all Ducks fans here is the class. There were people actually talking hockey and very few trollers. Can't say the same for all the other teams.

I live in the Nashville area, so I've heard alot of the feedback from this. Apparently, Leipold made the deal under the pretense that the team would remain in Nashville. They just got a new multi-year deal to the Naming Rights of the Arena and have been steadily finding some local corporate sponsorship, so its obvious the powers at be want to stay in Nashville. No matter what though, the Preds cannot move as long as long as average attendence is over 14,000, which has been a problem the past few years. If they fans truly supoort this team, its time to show it. Tickets are cheap here (starting at $10) so its a great way to spend a night when you have nothing to do. Hopefully, the fans will come through and show support for this team. Plus, there are a TON of Wings fans in this area. If the Preds go, no more Wings.... What possible Canadian city can support a team? The Nordiques and the Jets had years of opportunity to show they can support a team and they blew it. Hell, the Alberta teams can barely support themselves financially. I can't really imagine any other major Canadian city that could pull this off. Kansas City, forget about it. The market is worse than Nashville. We'll see three years of support and then no one will give a damn again.

Since their 2002 cup win, every team that has eliminated Detroit in the playoffs has reached the Cup final (2003-Anaheim, 2004-Calgary, 2006-Edmonton, 2007-Anaheim). Once more every one of those previous teams lost the Cup in 7 games. A good sign for the Senators?

I think its safe to say that the Colorado rivalry has demised, especially with them missing the playoffs. The St. Louis rivalry died a while ago, and although Anaheim will definitely create some interesting matchups in the future, I don't see them becoming anywhere near Colorado in the late 90's-early 2000's. I'd say Nashville is becoming a huge rival. The fans absolutely hate the Wings, and moreover, hate Wings fans. If they continue some of those good battles they had earlier in the season, I can see that rivalry picking up.

A picture in the Detroit News shows Kronwall practicing with the team yesterday in Anaheim. I haven't heard anything about tonight, but is this an indication that Kronwall could be back soon, maybe by Game 7?

Tonight is going to determine Lidstrom's legacy as a Red Wings captain. This "speech" he's planning has to hit the hearts of the team in order to inspire them.

Yeah, this is an interesting move. I had all but forgotten about Kopper, but I can see where Babs is coming with this. Kopper gives us a little more size to a group of Wings that were outmuscled in Game 2. Still If that was the case, I would have put in either Langfeld or Ellis, someone who is a little sharper.

Does this even NEED to be photoshopped? *edit by vladdy16: Unfortunately, yes, all pictures in this thread must be photoshopped, although I understand what your point was.- 477 replies

Love the one used by Boston and Montreal. But still, nothing compares to that sweet sound heard after a goal at Joe Louis Arena.

I agree. That's been the best line of the playoffs. You don't mess with chemistry

#1 priority would be a forward with a big Right-Handed shot. #2 would be a goalie, preferably through trade (someone like Toskala or Chris Mason) I would love to have an agitator on the team somewhere. Someone like Hartnell to get under the other team's skin I doubt they'll go defensive. The emergence of Quincey seems to have the D pretty set for now, and Lilja has been playing better this playoffs.
