If we kept Hudler, we would have to say goodbye to more than just Williams and Lebda/Meech (the elder which may not be such a great idea anyway). In the end, I think it might be better to say goodbye to Hudler.

Have you ever considered why players ask for a NTC in the first place?

Officially, Ilitch turned down the extension in order to try to restructure the terms of the lease. There hasn't been any official plans to renovate the Joe or to build a new arena. Rumor wise, Ilitch recently bought alot of land on Cass within the past year. Also, there have been talks about possibly making a new rink part of the Cobo Project

To start the year, I think Leino will be on the 2nd or 3rd line, while Eaves will be on the 4th with Malts and Draper. We saw a couple of different combos with the front 2 the past few years. And I have a feeling we'll be seeing alot of different ones when the season starts.

We just locked up the core of a two-time finalist team for at least the next 6 years. How are we rebuilding?

I think the Filpulla-Franzen combo proved it can be effective during the playoffs. I think as long as that combo continues to work, that would enable Dats and Z to be reunited.

I think Filpulla actually stepped it up during last year's playoff run. He really meshed well with Franzen and was great alongside Hossa. I think if you put a pure goal scorer (like Prospal) next to him, he really plays at his best.

Really, I don't think so, at least not to the extent of what Balsillie did to the Metro Sports Council. I don't know how he handled things in Pittsburgh, but he did things here that were borderline illegal. Oh yeah, then there was that big one-hour presentation made to the MSC about his commitment to Nashville, and referenced inserting money into the organization, drawing corporate support, and using the team to reach out to and better the community. It really was a well-done, brilliant presentation and business model. There was just one problem, about 14 hours later, he started selling season tickets in Hamilton. And just something to keep in mind, Bettman did not stop the sale. Craig Leipold did.

Being right in the middle of the Preds fiasco, take it from me. He's an *******. While he may or may not be a terrible owner, any team he becomes associated with will instantly become my most hated team.
