2011 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 28th, 3:00 PM ET

Phillips is a big name to you? Hemsky and Penner probably aren't going anywhere since the Oilers have already stated that any team that wants them must dramatically overpay for them. -
Massive over payment for a 33 year old having his worst year of his career with little chance for him to have a better season next season. 3mil for a terrible +/- and less than 10 points this season...ouch. With their line-up next few years he'll be lucky to be best 15 points.

Thomas may be short, but he has size. Mrazek got screwed out of the WJC, but he'll make up for it with AHL and NHL all-star honors in the future

Seabrook extended for 5 years at $5.8 million per year

Sweet, i was agreeing with you Although, he won't command a hefty salary since this is his rookie year and he is 26. hawks will look at Jimmy howard and see that sophomore slumps exist in goalies and not offering Crawford more than 2mil a season. -

I think most, if not all the big names have been moved, but I reckon a lot of smaller pieces being shipped out. -
I think the real question we have to ask ourselves is if she did in fact, eat a bowl of dicks.

Good thing the cap is to go up 3-4 million next season. -
Nearly 99.9% of European prospects sign contracts with an NHL-out clause.
-
He should at least get a sniff if a forward goes down, but he is 26...not much of a prospect anymore. We've seen what he can do in the North American game, maybe he should take his talents abroad and be one of the better players of a league? i just don't think north American hockey will get him any farther and I think a European league will pay him much more.
-
You sir, are a man among men.
-
Why'd you quote my post and then post that? Obviously worse teams tend to have lower +/-'s, but it doesn't explain why the player in question has the lowest on his team when there are players on his team who have very good +/-'s.

Show once instance of that. Everyone agrees a veteran DMan or back up goalie or grinding winger would help, but it's people like you who say the Wings must do it or else all hope is lost is the part that's getting annoying. Plus, no one is offering a player they want here, they're just saying "this team needs a shake up...a new player would help derp derp", how is that any help? Make an offer and state why and how we're going to fit it in under or cap that has no room under it. -
Thread is moot, the worlds going to end in 2012.

PP Time/G - Bogo: ~2mins Big E: ~10 secs. Yet Ericsson has more points oddly enough. So by your logical and comparative analysis, Lidstrom would be -20 on Atlanta then, eh? That's the most asinine thing I've ever heard. Plus/Minus, by itself is more or less useless, but when you compare it to teammates and usual line-mates, then it is an excellent stat. i.e. Bogo has the worst +/- on his team at -15. the next lowest is -11. The highest +/- on Atlanta by defensemen are +9 and +7. So either Bogo is playing with a terrible partner, or he is struggling mightily at even strength or a combo of both.
-
Where'd you hear this, cause that's just a completely random off the wall statement lol.
-
JWowww better get a second straight start. He was hung out by his team on a few occasions but bounced back and allowed the team to get back into the game.
-
I wasn't panicking... It was a joke... You said we struggled against playoffs teams and I was pretending to say hi to the Oilers following by saying every team is in the playoff race, present company excluded i.e. the Oiler...since they just walked in the room....
-
Oh hai Oilers: Every team in the West is in the playoff race...present company excluded.
-
Yah, i noticed our terrible record against the West the past handful of games.
-
Their salaries I'm fairly sure would offset. And there is still a chance another team would offer sheet him to a big contract and we get a couple of excellent picks for him.
-
Except he'd have to clear waivers and since he'd have no cap hit (there is no cap in the playoffs) I'm 100% certain another team would claim him.
-
Yes. You get mine, though.

A goal and two assists today plus a misconduct penalty for bitching at a ref after a minor penalty he took.
