Two sources confirm #redwings have kicked tires regarding #thrashers Zach Bogosian, but say deal unlikely to happen. #NHL#thrashers asking price for Bogosian - Hudler, Ericsson or Kindl and high draft pick - too big a price for #redwings to pay at this point. I'd do Hudler and first and Ericsson for Bogo. And maybe if trees didn't have branches, there'd be a lot less voyeurs in the world.

Seeing how the games are usually picked at the beginning of the season, i'm guessing Versus/NBM/NHL scheduling executives. Sunday - Matchup of the past two Stanley Cup Champions. Monday - there were only 3 games and the only one that involved two playoff teams were Pens vs Caps...which is also a huge rivalry Wednesday - four EST games played (Pit/SJ, Atl/Buf, Fla/Ott, TBL/PHX) to fill the "early" game. Are you really surprised Pittsburgh was picked out of all those matchups and markets involved? Friday - So they cut to the Pens game during intermission...they're in the same regional market, so that makes sense why they did that... Saturday - Pens vs Toronto. PHI/OTT trumps on CBC. VAN/BOS get the late game on CBC. So it comes down to three games who could fill the 7 spot on NHLN (BUF/DET, Caps/NYI, TOR/PIT) and since it's HNIC, onbviously the Toronto game get's priority. But I forgot:

You don't think Lidstrom/Draper/Ozzie/Modano want to go out on top or guys like Helm/Abby/Eaves/Miller/Salei/Big E/JHowww don't want to prove something in the playoffs? We have a full line up of guys that will give 110% in the playoffs this year. If we brought in a guy, it's be a 12th/13th forward or a 6th/7th DMan. All which could help or could have no impact at all. All in all, it's not worth getting fussy about from anyone. We have a Stanley Cup able team right now, there are maybe 4 teams including with the Wings that actually have a real shot at winning the cup this year.

I'm perfectly fine with the buyout system and the waiver/"stashing" thing. The buy out system punishes teams for poor cap management and the waiver/stashing thing works fine. You have to waive someone first to "stash them" then re-entry waiver them to "un-stash them". Or are you saying, players on one-way contracts in the minors should count against the cap no matter what? There is no loophole...

Great deal for both teams. Finally a trade that actually makes sense and neither side overpaid.

I'll take your word for it, but man, reading his stuff is brutal. My worst autocorrect moment was when I typed to a girl I liked "ohhh babyyyyyyy" and it came out "oh baguette"...stupid autocorrect. But how does Autocorrect change Chris to Cris? or for to fir? I still don't think it's him, but if the NHLPA says it's him I guess I have to believe them lol.

If Campbell was annually top 5 in scoring, showing that consistency that most defensemen lack, while playing above average defense, his salary would have been justified, but he isn't producing offensively, which is why the deal is terrible and is what i was trying to get at. But, to be fair, Campbell was in the top five for the Norris his first year with the hawks and if he would have kept that up his contract wouldn't look that bad. But man, his consistency is garbage. At least he has a good +/- with a sub-par Hawks team.

Holland doesn't need to do anything. Seems regular season complacency has set it. They'l flip the switch come playoffs. Obviously they could use some help on the back end, but it's not a pressing matter. Something needs to be done about Jimmy and his play this season, but he's our goalie going into the playoffs and that ain't changing unless Ozzie steals it form him. People act surprised when w don't make moves, but I'll take our two SCF in three years and top 4 record this season as meaning Holland knows what he is doing.

Not to mention if this deal is accurate, they're going to have ~20mil tied up in three defensmen (Campbell (7.1), Seabrook (6), Keith (5.5)) I don't see how Seabrook should be making more than Keith. Brent must have an awesome agent. Well, technically Huet isnt counting against the cap since the hawks waived him and sent him to the Swiss league. Which is a dick move to do. You sign a guy and then waive him a couple years later, then bury him in Europe til' his contract runs out.

Defensively, Campbell has done more than anyone had expected, he's just screwed the pooch on the offensive side of things. he had his 52 points campaign and then 38 and now maybe finishes with 25 points. If he would have kept that 50 point or above average the deal wouldn't look bad, but the dude has just sucked since his first year there. Where they REALLY messed up, was with Huet.

I love Smith, he is my favorite prospect, but he should not have a Twitter lol. I see nothing good coming from him having one...if it is the real Smith. A2 leads the entire league in +/-. 4th in defenseman on his team in points. He has improved his defensive play, his offense is starting to come around even more, now all the kid needs to do is work on his skating and strength and he has a great chance of making the Wings in the next 5 years I have some high hopes for this kid.

Probably a fair deal. He's averaged 30 points the past 5 seasons and he's on pace for around 40 this season and it's his 6th season in the league at 25 years of age. He's very very good defensively and very good offensively. Maybe a half a million to a million too much, but it seems like a fair deal for a player of his caliber. I guess it's a good thing Kronwall has troubles staying healthy, cause' he put up 51 points in his first season of more than 70 games and puts up the same numbers while playing a quarter less of the game Seabrook plays lol.

Cause' they are the ones doing the scoring? Wings Offense > Buffalo Offense. Wings Defense ~ Buffalo Defense. Wings goaltending < Nabakov sitting at home. If Wings defense decides to show up and Hank and Franzen do something at ES we should have this one in the bag. JMac plays a simple enough game and controls his rebounds and anything with 3 or less goals I think we should win easily.
