Well, i liked the skills competition. Sure they were disorganized, but aside from the wacky crazy out of your pants shootout attempts, I liked this thing. Chara is a beast. Lidstrom looked extremely comfortable in front of a camera 9maybe a NHL TV deal?) Eric Staal is a great guy and repped his city perfectly.

This has nothing to do with your debate, but I agree with that statement. Why do you think Filppula gets bashed so much when he always steps up in the playoffs and is one of the few players in the entire league who's production is substantially better in the playoffs?

For what he's paid and his expected role, he is earning his money. he's easily replaceable, but for what we signed him for, he's doing his job.

Lidstrom's so use from coming behind this season he though he might as well do it in the skills comp. 11 to 21 in favor of Team Staal I wonder what ASSets Carissa Thompson has that she was able to get that job.

Just got done watching the NHL Overtiime program before the Skills competition and the Panel selected Detroit to play in the Stanley Cup finals, but they were split on whether we'd face the Bruins or Flyers. In either case, they picked Detroit to lose. Red Wings getting some Stanley Cup run love. I guess we don't need to toughen up So what do you guy think, are we making the Stanley Cup? Who do you think we'd face?

I don't trust the goaltending of Boucher and Bob. The rumor is, the Flyers are going to be relying heavily on Bob down the stretch and I don't think the rookie will be able to take it in the playoffs.

We have a top 4 of Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, and Stuart. Names are names, it's all about their play. If you saw those names as a top four (Red Wings) you'd think we shut down every team on a regular basis, but in reality we have been struggling defensively.

But back on topic, I think for a player who has won the Calder, his play after he has won the Calder hasn't really improved. maybe he isn't the worst Calder winner ever, but maybe the most disappointing post Calder player.

Right... Well i think coaching college hockey shows you know a few things more than the average competitive hockey player. And until you coach a college team, built a team from various student athletes, won conference and been to national championships, etc i don't think you have a real grip on what it take to make the most successful team possible in the sport.
