Sounds like a strong case for the Hart. The Steckel cheapshot was bs. So was the boarding by Hedman. I can slightly excuse the Hedman hit, because you see that hit every game, but the cheapshot at the WC warranted a suspension. I have to completely disagree. Games against the Hawks, Sharks, Canucks, Pens are not just another game. They are the games where the best is playing against the best. What team do you think the Wings feel better about beating, the Canucks or the Oilers? The fact is, not all game are created equal. This game truly showed me we cannot complain at all anymore about these injuries. We got outplayed, but we proved we are the best team in the NHL, with a substandard Detroit Red Wing team none the less. Howie needs to play like this for this team to make it far in the playoffs. No more 2010 Howard, 2011 Howard needs to play like 2009 Howard.

He was still playing very well the first half of the season, he just didn't have the points to show for it. I read most of the articles of the games he played this season and his coach and other coach always singled him out as being one of the best on the ice.

Kesler is awesome and I'm sure most Wings fans would agree he fits the Red Wing mold. Over the past few seasons, out of the teams in the West, the Nucks have done the best job emulating the Wings from their European personnel on the ice, and their playing style and drafting. They are one of the few teams I like.

I doubt we win and I wouldn't be surprised if we get manhandled, but I'm not going to press any panic buttons if/when we lose this one. We are hurt and they are playing like the best team in the NHL, plus our goaltending has been lackluster to boot. Canucks 4, wings 1. Hope I'm wrong

We all like Mursak, but I think Tatar has warranted the extended stay when Filppula is healthy.
