Looks like the Wings are playing MSU.

Another + for AppleFritters

Sweden destroyed Norway 7-1. The Järnkrok line is struggled according to Aftonbladets reporter.

I'll do my best

Out of curiosity, why would you want Hossa? Look at what his cap hit has done to the Hawks. The Hawks won the cup in spite of Hossa, not because of Hossa. Now, they might not even make the playoffs.

Well you still got Ilya Kovalchuk right now who leads the league in +/-, well, the minus part of the +/-. Or at least half of these guys

Ah yes, the dreaded Red Wing rookie 7th DMan syndrome.

I'll be bouncing around this game and the USA vs Finland WJHC game that starts at 8.

I love how Flip Franzen and Bertuzzi are/were all struggling and the guy who doesn't make the most gets singled out. Flip is going to finish with 20 goals and around 25 assists. All while playing near perfect defense. If it wasn't for the few games where Franzen and Bertuzzi couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat, Flip's numbers would look superb. Flip's job is to shut down the other teams 1st or 2nd line and play excellent at even strength (He's continually near the top of the team in ES assists and points) while making very nice passes to our scorers. If our guys don't finish, his numbers don't look as nice, but as long as he keeps setting them up then i don't see anything wrong. Plus, Filppula is a strong finisher of the season, he usually starts off slow like the rest of the team for some reason. I may be a Flip slappy, but I like to think of it as having conviction about one of our players. The majority of the board during the early parts of this season were calling for Cleary's head, but there were the few guys/gals that have defended him with conviction because they saw something in him, and look at Cleary now.

The 2010 draft. First 10 picks. 5-OHL 4-WHL 1-Finland (First Q player taken 13th, no other 1st round Q players) The 2009 draft. First 10 picks. 3-OHL 4-WHL 3-Sweden (First Q player taken 14th, First Canadian Q player taken 25th) The 2008 draft. First 10 picks. 7-OHL 1-WHL 1-Russia 1-US College (No Q players taken in the first round) The 2007 draft. First 10 picks, 3-OHL 4-WHL 1-QMJHL 1-NAHL 1-BCHL (First Canadian Q player taken 19th) The 2006 draft. First 10 picks. 1 from damn near every league in the world. (5 Q players ntaken in the first round) Past 10 drafts: Number 1 picks 2010 Taylor Hall - OHL 2009 John Tavares - OHL 2008 Steve Stamkos - OHL 2007 Patrick Kane - OHL 2006 Erik Johnson - NTDP 2005 Sidney Crosby - QMJHL 2004 Alex Ovechkin - Russia 2003 MAF - QMJHL 2002 Rick Nash - OHL 2001 Ilya Kovalchuk - Russia OHL - 5 QJMHL - 2 Russia - 2 NTDP - 1 The empirical data doesn't lie. The Q isn't producing high quality players at the moment (past half decade). Sean Couturier should be a top flight player, but only time will tell. You can't really refute the data.

+1 for you. Filppula is one guy who always shows up in the playoffs. Those players don't grow on trees. This thread doesn't surprise me, especially considering who started the thread.

But if everyone plays 500 we're legit!

Levels? Cleary gets harder than that on a nightly basis. Edit: Oh Savard....

Wings just need to clear the screens and get down to block shots. So many fewer goals would be going in. I miss Lilja for that reason alone.

I'm most excited for Pulu (what the Fins call him apparently) than I am Callahan, but there's nothing wrong for being excited about both. if you think Pulu is being undervalued, start a thread about him?

Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand

Because you don't have to until you need to since it's retroactive. If he were to be put on LTIR he'd already have 2 days under his belt. LTIR counts up the days prior to actually being put on it. -
Modanos LTIR frees up cash for two AHLers.

Due to his play at pre WJC games. He was played at every forward position in every situation. he'll likely be 13th forward or 4th line grinder. And he's American It's rare for the Wings to draft an American who can play some good hockey.

Only Hudler would leave a drop pass to a guy covered by two opponents.
