I was right about every single UFA and RFA this past summer about not signing here. Holland is predictable and has set trends. Those trends say Parise and Weber are not signing here before or during their primes. Quote me on it. Bet me on it. He either thought we might need to cut salary come the trade deadline or he might have thought Cleary would make good trade bait, otherwise he doesn't have the NTC expire around a trade deadline.

I doubt Hudler, Cleary, Holmstrom and Stuart will all be here next year. Possibly even Kindl and Emmerton gone this seaosn. We'll have a completely new team next season and Bertuzzi is a great Vet to have with an infusion of young guns next season.

I don't get how people don't like this trade. We got a player we can win now with over a pick who may not even play, and of it does, it won't be for another 4 years. Kindl and Tatar for a top six winger and then we win the cup with ease. Throw in a mid level prospect and pick for a gritty third liner and things gett hat much easier.

To be fair, besides the two best players on that team, they are just about all Canadians. Ice Hockey was originated in Canada, but not by Canadians. It was by British troops stationed in Canada who played a variation of their field hockey.
