Same here. Ritola is a fourth line player who may one day be a nice third line player. I'd throw him into a trade that would land us a top 15 pick, you'd be crazy not to if there is a player with 2nd or 3/4 dman ability and potential at the 15th spot. Hell, even our 1st, 2nd and 4th might do it.

Mike Green, eat your heart out. -
With this accomplishment, he is surely bound for the HHOF.

Both made off like bandits in this deal. i did not expect the Hawks to get that much in return, but they did. Atlanta got a nice prospect and some very nice depth.
-
After reading his strengths and weaknesses he doesn't really sound like Shea Weber or Dion. He sounds like a more offense, much tougher Ericsson. Weaknesses say he is slow, immobile and is prone to bonehead passes and has craptastic vision on the ice. But if the scouting report says at worst he'd turn out like Adam Foote, then hell, I'd take him easily. Foote was/is a damn good hockey player who had some nice snarl to him.
-
Well now that the hockey world knows what the hawks want, there's no way they get that. GMs KNOW that the Hawks need to move players, they aren't going to give up a first round pick and prospects for 2nd or 3rd and 4th line players on a team that NEEDS to unload a couple players.

Nvm, read it wrong 5th/6th D-men should be tough at least, but they also make league minimum or close to it as possible. So don't expevt anyone that will make near a 1mil cap hit a year. 850K at most. Same thing goes for anyone on the fourth line.
-
I read he was about to re-sign though...

Don't you mean Ferraro/Andrej Nestrasil?

They cater to the majority instead of the minority. The majority enjoy this crap.

Wrong. If you're going to dog a user, at least get your facts straight. Regardless, this thread is so off track it's not even funny. sign Zenon and let him battle for a roster spot.

You can neg me all you want, it still won't change the fact we have the exact same thread a week or so ago lol. And it's not whether I "like" the thread or not, just informing you we already have a recent thread on the exact same subject you are trying to discuss. So instead being upset about being called out on not using the search function, maybe you can add to the thread already made?

I'm fairly sure we already had a Winchester thread a couple weeks ago... Learn to search? Exact same title

Cleary, Sammy, Franzen (wasn't drafted until 24 no one gave him a chance), Lilja, Stuart-ish, Boyd the void and Hull

Not Detroit. My guess is either the KHL or a team going nowhere.

Welcome to the Red Wing mantra over the past 20 years. Invest in skilled players, worry less about top tier goaltending, win cups.

Sorry Newfy, but a lot of this is your pure opinion on your part and is pretty far off base. How many players have came through the ranks of the NHL with the utmost highest skill set to be a dominate player, but because they lacked the mental fortitude, ended up sucking and not cutting it? Answer: a s*** ton. You're potential is maxed out at 28? LOL. And why exactly is he soft? Because he isn't Canadian? If iFlip has the mental toughness and hockey sense of a second or first line player and the skill set of a 3rd/2nd liner, then he has the potential to put up Cleary like numbers and be a decent 3rd line player. Although he isn't coming in as a early 20 player, his mental toughness and the way he is able to see the game better than most very young and raw players. he'll do fine, and if it's not this year then it'll be next year, and if it's not next year, then it'll be the year after with another team most likely. Good luck iFlip, don't worry about the handful of haters!!! The ratio of people that like this move to the ones that don't are very high to very little.
-
Because some people clearly think they know better than Holland. For everyone bitching about potential. Get one thing straight. Potential isn't some video game. In hockey, potential means 'the ability to". Nothing more nothing less. iFlip has potential to be a good player. He has potential to be a player who can be a 20-20 player once he learns the North American game. As many European players have stated, playing in the NHL with better players raises your game. iFlip has potential whether you like it or not. So stop acting like you know everything and lets discuss how we (the Wings) can best utilize this guy's abilities.

No. Our team will be healthy. Our top six will be different and our bottom six will be very different.

Grand Rapids and you butchered Val's first and last name by the way.

That's the first thing I thought of, but I get a little drowsy i suppose from driving long distances at night. Glad to hear everyone is ok, though!

Bettman says solving hits to the head will take time

Do a ****? Excuse my British ignorance, is a **** a ****** or just an idiotic person? I can do a ******, but I'm not a big find of doing an idiotic person unless she is really blonde and has a nice set of fun bags. -

The only problem with that (although i do completely agree) is there will be even more diving. A player gets hit to the head, goes down, then goes Ribero on the ice to draw the extra minutes. If I didn't know your normal comments you make, someone would read this comment and assume you enjoy when people go after Kronwall after a clean hit because he "touched on of their players" and now it's time to get his face mashed.
