Because not as much was asked them after they left, as in, they only had to play one dimensional type of game or they got superior linemates. Kope got points because he played on the PP and with Hossa. Quincey played better because he got top 4 minutes and PP time. Leino got PP time and never had to play defense. Sammy played with the Sedins and got PP time. Basically, if you leave the Wings you get PP time and points.

The opposite kind of happens. Toews got a fairly large bonus for winning the Smythe and that is counting against the cap next year lol.

I said Hawks would win the division, which would make them top 3 in the West. Aside from the Pens, check out Stanley Cup finals runner-ups and how they fare the next season.... The majority of the time the Runner up don't even make the finals and they rarely, if ever, make it out of the first round. Like I said, aside from the Penguins of a season ago, the runner up does terrible the following season. Under this principle, i do not expect a whole lot out of the Flyers.

I love the optimism! But I don't see any of these happening, except maybe the first one and the last one.

- Chicago will win the division again. - 4 Central teams will make the playoffs showing we have the hardest and best division in all of hockey. - 4 Original 6 teams will make the playoffs. - One of Franzen/ Zetterberg/ Kronwall will miss more than half the season next season due to an injury. - Bettman will help facilitate a rule change, continue to allow the cap to rise and LGW will still complain about him. - Toy Story 3 will be sweet. - NHL 11 with CHL rights and teams is going to be the most played game next season. - The Lions will win 5 games.

I actually like Janik. I wish he would have played instead of Meech/Lebda/Ericsson last year.

Why do I have a feeling Lolton will let in another softy and lose the game? That Kane line scares me. Let's go Flyers!!!!!!!!

I'd stay somewhere besides downtown Detroit. While it may be cheaper, but a few bucks more will get yah safety

Well you mean WHEN you get back. I'm sure you'll be able to meet him at fan signings or NHL sponsored events.

I didn't pick any of those options as Holland will probably trade the pick for multiple picks.

I lived it up in college. Lived with a couple soon to be NFL players from this past NFL Draft. The kids I lived with were aggressive and dumb as bricks, but they knew not to jeopardize their careers by getting into fights at parties. So you're telling me if more was expected out of you, you wouldn't have handled yourself differently in college? I know damn well if I was expected to conduct myself to a higher a standard to not jeopardize my future as a pro athlete, I would not have had a problem to do so.

He's the model of a consistent regular season player, but he is sooo inconsistent in the playoffs it hurts. He does good, he does bad, he does good, and then he does bad. You know exactly what you're going to get from him: injury prone, ~15 goals, ~40 points, 60-75 games, solid defense, and finish somewhere around even +/-. I said trade him and I don't feel bad about it. I was decently happy with the dollare amount he was given, but the NTC killed me. I'm in the same boat with Stuart as well. If he stays a Wing I'll be happy but not thrilled, if they get traded somehow I won't be too disappointed.

I said Carcillo. Although I would take Pronger in a heartbeat. The reason I picked DC was because he is still young, can put away 10+ goals for you and is a great agitator, but more importantly will play 70+ games a season for you while the other two forwards won't. I would have taken Pronger in this poll, except his age hinders him here and we could use the cap space. If Lidstrom announced his retirement last week, i would have said Pronger because he still plays good defense and will pot 10 goals and 50 points for you.

Like I said, who was there too long? They all seemed to be down there for the right amount of time. You proved my point that Holland made the right decisions.

I was 13 when this happened and it was tragic. I was forced into liking hockey when I was 9 by my older cousins (who lived in northern michigan) when I lived in Chicago. Me and my whole family were baseball fans and I would go to a Cubbies game every week and my hockey cousins thought I should start liking a new sport lol. The Hawks were my first "team", but the TV and coverage was poor. I moved to Traverse City the following year in 94'. My cousins forced me to watch every Wings game that year and I fell in love with them lol. Then after that we had the cup loss and then the first cup win and everything tragic afterwards. Vladdy was one of the first D-Men I ever saw play the game and I thought that is how all D-Men were suppose to play. The forwards scored the goals with finesse and the D-Men hit and instilled fear in all the forwards. I always asked my cousins why Murphy and Lidstrom never hit like that and they said they were Swedish lol. Vladdy will always be my first favorite D-Man!

Favorite of all-time: Al Michaels and Mickey Redmond Least Favorite: Bostons and Anahiems Honorable mentions of awesomeness: Larry Murphy. he's done so much for this organization as a player and personnel, he deserves anything he wants.

Also throw in Grigs, if he hadn't been in a crash too, we'd have the Euro Trips. I got choked up for sure.

No it's for serial. I liked the GRap references. The BOB, oh geez. Haha. Who stayed in the AHL too long? Hudler, Helm, J-Ho, Filppula, Kronwall, or Ericsson? Kindl or Ritola? I'd say he made the right choices there.

Would a real gritty fighter help or hurt this team?

I wouldn't mind someone who can fight as long as he can play 10 mins a night and contribute 10 goals or 25 points by seasons end.
