I said no. He may not be the best regular season player, but he is one of the very rare players that actually steps up his play during the playoffs. Also, if you're playing on the first line of your Olympic national and your team isn't Belarus or Italy, you must be a damn good player that everyone would love to have.

Which is why a lot of the softer European players do exceed in the AHL where the skill level isn't as up to par as it should be. IF you have a lot of skills in an inferior league, you will put up numbers.

I wouldn't want Phaneuf here unless we gave up very little for him. All I've heard is he is a lockerroom cancer and plus he is a terrible defensmen. We have plenty of only offensive minded D-Man on this team. Would rather we trade for a stay at home shut down physical D-Man.

We all love Kronwall, but maybe it's time to tade him and get a slightly less offensive and slightly less physical D-Man that can stay healthy for 78+ games a season.

Re-read the part I bolded. You can coast and still charge. Just like you can get a slashing w/o even touching the player. If you skate or coast for a great distance i.e. from the blue line to the goal crease and delivery a violent hit, it is charging.

I agree with that, but I feel bad for this kid because he got rocked after he scored a goal. If Carter did this after the shot was blocked then i would have a completely different opinion. The hit to me was clean, but how the hit came about wasn't. Plus, on top of it being late, it was also charging. He went a long way to lay that hit w/o an attempt to even play the puck.

Out 48 to 56 weeks you heard it hear first. Not by the cut, but the stitching will lead to a massive infection followed by an amputation to his leg which gets replaced by a prosthetic limb 6 months later.

It just re-affirms that there should be fines or other consequences for "wrestling/throwing" your opponent to the ice. That's where 99% of the danger comes in. -

So he's gotten a point in just about every game since he's been back from his injury and people are STILL saying he isn't showing enough?

At this point in the season it's either 24hours 48hours or 72hours until we'll know if he does or does not clear waivers.
