Big blow for Finland with Salami out. Glad to see Filppula on the first line, he's earned it. probably will have first line PK duties and second line PP duties. Sucks he never got any international experience before this, but the Wings have been to the playoffs and have been going too deep recently for him to participate in them.

I think that has more to do with how good our doctors are at predicting when the players injuries will heal. If you know a ligament will heal in 27-31 days, you're not going to say he'll be back in six weeks, you'd say 4-5 weeks. Our doctors can start saying they'll be back in six weeks if it'll make you feel better about them returning a week early?

I agree and disagree at the same time. We may not be the favorites, but we have a damn good chance to win the cup. The only team that worries me is the Hawks come playoff time, but I'd still give the edge to the Wings since we have substantially more playoff experience. The Sharks never scare me because their team isn't built for a Stanley Cup. Duck use to scare me, but w/o Pronger I'm not too worried.

Honestly, we have to throw him into the fire and see what he has. Start him cold turkey so to say in the playoffs and see how he performs with a healthy team with an even more defenseive mindset. Have him start 8+ straight games leading to the playoffs to see what kind of streak him can get himself into and see where he goes from there.
