I voted for Conklin because I can no longer say Conkblocked. If there was a "none of the above" I would have picked that. I'm shocked Chelios isn't first. He's been here for 10 years and helped win a couple cups. Hossa was a rental player for one year and was s*** in the playoffs. Holy bandwagonners!

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract

This could get ugly real fast... -
Lidstrom is on record saying he'd play for league minimum if it was the only choice. Laugh all you want.

Red Wings announce provisional Summer Development Camp roster

Wings ALMOST won the cup last year too. Almost doing something isn't the as actually doing it. -
That's not entirely true. Ever single person that did that cap crunch thing to "prove" we could afford him had a thought that we could keep him. All the LGW'rs that got excited every time a new article saying Hossa wants to stay, those people though he really would be signed long term. So in short, yes, there actually were a mass of people who actually thought, for whatever reason, he would actually stick around. /actually

He gave up once and management gave up once. And it is different situations, you're right, he actually accomplished something here and carried us on his back before to a cup.
-
People boo Fedorov and he won a few cups for us. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Joe booing Hossa. Are they in the right to do it? No. Do they pay the money to do it? Yes.

Great fan turn outs and great ticket prices and the loudness of their arena. They are not a better organization than the Wings, that's for damn sure, but when it comes to fan presentation and being modern, I can see why they rank higher and it's not that hard to believe if you take off the homer glasses.

I think that's not true. Signing bonuses do count against the cap, which is why some rookies have much higher cap hits. Which is why Brunnstrom has a salary of I think 900 or 800K but a cap hit of 2.25MM. I'm fairly sure you take the signing bonus and spread it out evenly over the contract or something, or maybe that is the percentage thing.

This was the point of my post. Since he gets some things right, people keep coming back to him. He knows this and capitalizes on this. You want to say he has serious mental issues then so be it, but I see an entrepreneur who sells a product that people just eat up. I think he's complete garbage, but the guy is good at what he does, there is no denying that. And even if he does have mental issues, there is no need to dis him for that. look at Rain Man, he bankrupted a Casino and he was a ratard!

 This might get added to the "Sig o' Quotes"

I was referring to physical, not mental.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

Good post, but I like your Sig more, except I'd like to point out that cool points are very underrated as I pointed out in a previous thread the other day. -
Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

I feel bad for the LGW members that actually thought he was more than a rental player. Good luck on where ever you go Hoss! Hope to meet you in the finals next year -
Ryno seems like a bust and unmotivated, but I'm really excited to see a fully healthy HTD!

He either has to make the Wings now, or wait til' he's 20 to be able to be sent down to the Griffins. Expect him to stick it out in the WHL for a couple years until he meets the age requirement for CHL'rs. Now our European prospects can be signed and sent to the minors as long as they don't have CHL rights.
-
No idea either, but these are NOT recent signings, these are the contracts of our prospects.

Well to play Devil's Advocate. The team this past season minus Hossa won the cup. This team with Hossa lost the Cup. AppleFritters and Leino and Helm all playing a full season will help tremendously. I know AppleFritters is slated to play for the Griffs, but when he gets his chance to shine the trio of Helm, Leino, AD combined are more of a weapon then the floater Hossa. Shin pad Sammy sucks and Hudler is a fourth line player who is used as a PP specialist. Koko was a pylon out there and Cheli didn't play enough to make an impact recently. So in short. We are not icing the same team. We're losing Hossa who did s*** in the playoffs. A Pylon, a shin pad hunter and a back-up goalie are leaving. We're adding a second line player, a third line checker, and a formidable 4th line threat. Plus, since we are the Red Wings, we get five cool points. Do you even know how much five cool points go for on the open market!!!

This is the happiest day of my life. Even when I have my first kid, this will rank higher.
-
His scouting report sounds like Kindl lol.
-
He's right about one out of ten times, i even saw him string together three in a row at one point! He is 90% of the time wrong, but to say he is completely useless and has mental problems is assinine. He clearly knows by throwing out rumors that he'll become very popular, evident of the fact that every hockey fan knows who he is.

Wings Trade thier first round pick to Tampa
Konnan511 replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
Datsyuk was small as was Zata. Hudler is the only one that didn't grow or put on weight haha. Red Wings are notorious for drafting smallish guys because we develop them and that's the way we'll keep doing it. I know you guys want big gritty Canadiens, but that's not how Detroit works. -
If that's being killed, then I'd love to hear how you rate other hits Crossovert
