Ozzie is awesome and I KNEW there were going to be ticky-tack penalties called on the Wings that aren't going to be calle don the Ducks. -

I definitely went for quantity over quality, but does it really matter, after a certain point it all tastes the same. And if we score more than 3 goals (shots per goals and total number of assist) I could very well die tonight...but if/when we win, it'll be worth it! -

At 24, Datsyuk had 51 points (12 goals). At 24, since Flip just turned 25 a couple months ago, Filppula just put up 40 points (12goals). Anyone who has been watching him this playoffs can see he has a physical edge that Datsyuk didn't have at that age. Filppula truly is a poor man's Datsyuk right now and at the end of Filppula's 5 year contract we will be calling him Datsyuk-lite. And Zeke, just remember which players are making more than Filppula and compare their point/goals totals to hi and pick those players to start riding because Filppula, as said before by many posters, has not been one of the Wings that has been playing inadequately and remember what we are paying him for, and it's not for being a finsher, but for being FInnish .

Come on Doc, it was completely mocking this thread. But to the OP, I agree with NN on this one to be honest. That brawl was nothing more than payback and the boiling point of an eqpic rivalry. That Wings' team was built Ford tough with all their additions and that brawl just proved it. Was that brawl a rallying cry? Maybe, but it was certainly a bonding experience for the Wings. But again, it wasn't the end all be all that got us over the hump, there was just a lot of hate that needed to be released.

Sorry Zeke. You're worng on this and most of us all agree Filppula is one of the players who is playing above average rght now. Filppula is paid for his exceptional defense and his ability to create offense. Hossa and Franzen are being paid to score and one of those two is doing it on a nightly basis.

Well against NHL talent, during his 10 game span on the Wings he compiled a top 3 +/- on the Wings' roster. It's easier for Europeans to play on an NHL team and dominate than it is with less skilled payers that don't think the same way they do.

Why would you say that. WHen he was put on our fourth line for the handful of games he produced at an equal level of everyone on the team, all while having one of the best plus/minus during that span. Sounds like we need him. He has unbelievable experience when it comes to pressure pack games, look at his record in Finland and down in grand Rapids. Leino>1/2 of the Red Wing forwards.

Naw, home ice advantage. Think of the Phili Eagles and their field back in the day. Or the Avs using the high altitude in their favor by having the better athletes and preching stamina.

Yes. You'd be surprised being a coach how much reinforcing one or two main points really does. One minute you're shooting and following the shot but not really battling, trying to be more finesse, then after you relaly reame a team out about a point you need to get across, they'll start physically trying to get to the front of the net. I have faith that if it works with a college hockey team, it'll work with the Red Wings GO WINGS!!~!!

Use ESPN. That's what I do, they send texts after each goal and period and after the game. It's great!
