Downey would NOT have prevented Dion being an idiot and crosschecking Cleary. Franzen's injury happened on the PP after HE swung first, again, Downey would NOT have been on the PP. Downey in the line-up does not prevent ANYTHING from happening. Remember Lidstrom getting elbowed int he head, Downey was in the line-up that night. Enforcers don't prevent anything.

Tonight would be a good night for Pavs to drop his gloves and put his fist through someones face!

I agree. Major over reaction. Cleary was going down regardless of Dion touching him. The extra force of the push made it seem a lot worst, IMO I think Cleary was going to get hurt on that play whether or not anyone touched him. We really need to convert on this longggggg 5v3

If Filp would have second PP duty through the whole year he'd have around an extra 20 points which would put his season total points around 50 right now and he'd finish with around 60. So keep that in mind for next year when he puts up 60-70 points so you don't say "About time he stepped up" Plus he played very very good last year in the playoffs with a sprained knee or whatever. This year he'll tear it up even more in the playoffs with his full health and with his great Faceoff abilities, maybe that'll give the Red Wing brass the option of sitting Draper for Leino and not feel bad about it.

The only problem is, Ericsson doesn't hit. He's wayyyy too soft, and even more so when you discuss his size. He fought a couple times in the AHL, but he doesn't have a mean streak of a Kronwall or Stu. What this kid does posses is good vision, and a thunderous slap shot. Once he figures out positioning, he should be a main stay on the second pairing in the future.

Is Ericsson a father? if so he is a Filf, if he does not have a kid he's just a booty call

How was the game??? Give me the low down. I just got back from our IM Basketball championship game...which we won!!!!! If I didn't have two Economic exams tomorrow this could have been one of the best nights ever haha!
