So if Lids and Rafs are gone, who is your number 1 D-man? Kronners, lol no? Stuart, lol no? Where are we going to find an extra 60 points from a d-man, or an extra 70 points from a lidstrom? hard to make up 130 points from your top pairing D-men when you replace them with 30 point and 15 point Kronners and Stu. Not too mention, Kronners is our only top-6 D-Man in the negatives in regards to +/-.

You can give a player a signing bonus but it counts towards the cap. Which is why Brunnstrums cap hit isn't the rookie minimum. His salary is rookie minimum, but his signing bonus is counting against his cap.

Lids got hurt for the first time last year after an elbow to the head, whether we had an enforcer or not that elbow was going to happen and look, it happened even with Downey in the line-up. You're crazy on so many levels. The first lockout nearly killed the NHL, another lockout a few years later will kill the NHL. There will not be another lockout, just because the CBA is re-opened doesn't mean they are saying let's keep everything the same.

Everyone has to remember that we have many UFAs and RFAs next year. If we don't re-sign them to accomodate for Hossa and Hanks/Franzens massive pay raises, we won't be able to field a competitive team. Hossa is not coming back next year, Hank is getting a cap hit of around 7, and Frazens cap hit will be at least 4. With the cap going down does everyone really expect Hossa to take another 3 mil pay cut? No.
