Brutal...better keep an eye on her I don't play, I coach @ Delta College. D3, but you wouldn't know from some of the facilities we play in. Ended last year on a 6 game winning streak, and are poised for nationals this year! We have around 41 games, so this should be a jam packed year for us.

Not surprising that the Ducks didn't get anything for him, If you look at the numbers only 12 teams could fit him under their cap. Another 3 of those teams already have a full roster, with another 3 that still need to sign more depth, but wouldn't be able to if they picked up Schneids salary. So that leaves 7 teams realistically that could sign him (TOR, CLB, NSH, NYI, PHX, ATL, LA). We know TOR wouldn't trade for him since they are rebuilding completely. NSH is trying to sell themselves so they are out. ATL doesn't seem like they care about winning or contributing anything so that nixes them. That leaves basically CLB, NYI, PHX and LA that would have traded for him. Not hard to reason that all 4 teams knew this, they knew that ANA only had a couple of options, so you bet they low-balled the heck out of Burke, not to mention I don't see NYI/PHX wanting a 39 D-Man with maybe a year left of playing for close to $6 Mil. So if CLB wouldn't trade for him and LA knew they were the last team, and they knew he'd be going to waivers, you bet your butt they would take their chances on waivers then give up anything.

So I just got a text from my younger brother who is a goalie. It reads: "Guess who I am sitting next to", then a minute later it says "Steve Stamkos"! I tried to get a hold of him and he didn't answer and then i finally got a hold of my Dad and told me this nice little story. So as everyone knows the Wings training camp is starting up in TC. Well that is where I live. Tampa Bay usually sends their prospects up there as does a couple other teams every year. Well Tamps Bay only had one goalie come so they needed another one. One of the scouts for TB asked the manager of Centre Ice if he knows of any good young goalies that do not have draft rights held by other teams in the area and he recommended my little brother since he made the Michigan D1 Dream team as goalie as a junior this past year (He is 6'3" 215). They called him and invited him to play with the prospects for this one night. Naturally he agreed. But the story gets better. Well they did some drills and did some intra-squad scrimmages and my little brother being the only other goalie there played the whole game and played great. Stone-walled Stamkos on his first attempt (later he'd dangle my little brother back to grade-school), but the coach there was so impressed he actually invited him back for tomorrows games! Just thought I'd share this with you and hopefully I can upload some pics later if anyone in my family took pictures!

Yes, I blink around 25 times a minute, there is a high probability that I was blinking during the announcement But in all seriousness, Hasek>Roy. How can anyone deny the fact that once Hasek entered the league Roy never won a vezina again. Playing on a crappy team with crappy defense doesn't boost your stats as a goalie.

In an uncapped world, yes, but in a capped world I'd take Franzen. For this season I'll take both!

The only thing I don't agree with is that Conklin won't be traded. No way Holland does a sign and trade, but waivers does make some sense. It makes cap sense to keep J-Ho down in the minors, but if he out performs Conklin then the only way I see "us" keeping J-Ho on the Wings is putting Conklin on waivers and trying to send him down to GR.

Number of wins by the Lions or the number of 5+ game win streaks by the Red Wings. Personally, I feel the Lions will win 7 games and I think the Wings will have 8, 5+ game win streaks.

Didn't he break most points scored before 20 and most points in first 2 seasons, most assists by a rookie by like 10 or something? Youngest player ever to reach 100 points in a season? Wasn't he the youngest captain to ever be in a Stanley Cup final and youngest player in Team Canada's history? And youngest player ever to win a World Championship scoring title? I just remmeber hearing a bunch of this stuff and don't know exactly if it's all true. I can't stand Crosby as much as the next person, but like most, the reason we hate him so much shows how much respect we have for the guy. Admit it if you want, or keep living in denial about it. But back on topic, Datsyuk with his skills and contract easily puts him top five and the reason hank isn't on the list is because no one would trade for him since his contract will be up after this season and it'd take a lot to get him, and they'd have to be prepared to offer in the 8 to 11 million range to retain him per season.

Oh the good ole' days. So instead of sinking down to "their level", how about we just ignore what they say about us, not bash them, and just appreciate the athletes (like Cheli) that like to bring their prized possesions to their hometown to pay homage.

Baseball. Just because steroids were illegal, they weren't banned from the MLB. Throw a rock at a person's head on purporse, that's intent to injury and a slew of other charges, in baseball, it's a good play. Just because Fighting is illegal, doesn't mean NHL should ban it.
