So I'm watching the Columbus Feed and not only are the announcers horrible, but they just displayed a graphic on scrren that showed the shots and it said Columbus 2 Shots and Canucks 10

    Ovechkin's 60

I second this. The MVP argument goes the same in every single sport. Should the MVP of the league by on a team that does not go to the playoffs, and i honestly feel no, you have to be on a team that makes it to the playoffs, how valuable can you be if you don't lead your team to the playoffs. Now I know that the NHL is different from all the other sports where One player can't "do it all", unless you're a phenom goalie, where you still need some offense to score and win games. But I digress, I think the Hart should go to the One player that made the MOST difference on a team and the team is noticeabley different without that player. Now whether that is Nicky or not, I am not going to say, but fingers crossed =).

    3/20 GDT: Red Wings 6, Predators 3

The only thing I want to point out is, does anyone know what the whole Joe was chanting after that SJ Goal off the net a few games back...? They were ALL chanting "Bull Sh*t" for a good minute, minute and a half. Pretty sure that more than just two children were affected by that. So before we criticize the fans on something that we did that was much much much worst, let's consider things first. But as a whole, i do have a funny story about Pred Fans. My Uncle bought season tickets the first season they were a franchise and he has been to many many many Pred games and he has this uber expensive Leather Predator jacket and I always ask him who his favorite player is, and he always responds with Yzerman. Then I ask him who his favorite Predator is, and he always says, "the one who scores that game" haha

    Curtis Foster out on stretcher.....

Well it's official: Kurtis Foster out with a displaced fracture of his left femur. ESPNo NHL "Foster was slightly ahead of Mitchell as they chased a puck toward the boards behind the Minnesota goal in the second period. The 5-foot-11 San Jose center, who was hoping to prevent an icing call, put out his arms just enough to disrupt the precarious balance of the 6-foot-5 Foster, who already appeared to be falling when the players' skates collided." Sounds like it wasn't really Mitchell's fault, but I have yet to see the incident...

What in the world are you talking about? Read some previous posts and you'll see I'm not the only one who thinks there shouldn't have been a call on Ozzie. And to deny the fact that there was a high sticking call is just plain asinine.

Concede that the majority of the people on here are way too bias and have never actually studied the game of hockey and just give up being rational?

He didn't run the goalie, watch the replay. Our player cut in front of the BJ and and Ozzie came out, far outside the crease, which lead to the BJ player trying to squeeze between both.

Like I said, regardless of who went in the box, it was STILL high sticking by a Wing. Penalty on the Wings.

It wasn't a crap call...don't be such a homer. Eventhough they put the wrong guy in the box, it was still high sticking on the Red Wings, and to say they ran our goalie, well, not completely. Ozzie was 3 feet out from the goalie area and the BJ wasn't allowed to deviate from his path due to the Red Wing.

PP Goal for the BJs on POOR penalty killing positioning. Anytime you let the opposition have two guys set-up in front of the goalie and only one guy defending both of them, more often than not there will be a goal scored in that situation. Again, very poor penalty killing.

Penalty was for Datsyuk stepping on a stick blade and tumbling, tripping was the call on the BJs

Wings are being way too careless with the puck tonight, get the puck and clear it down the damn ice, don't fire it at or near other players on the other team.

    KronVall article

I'm 100% the OP knows it's Kronwall, but it's sort of a joke around here because NHL.com refuses to change his name to Kronwall from Krovall But good read, I didn't know Maltby had such a man crush on Kronners :-p

They lost all credability when talking about the Wings when they were dominating and they called Hen-Rick, Henreek Zet-ta-bur

Geez! This kid is playing amazing, these 40+ shots aren't the typical Red Wings shots in the chest either! PS. Haha, Kane tries to start stuff with Huds

    Around The Horn

Tim Cowlishaw loves hockey, just about every time he wins he ALWAYS talks about the NHL. I think what he meant by this was that the Western Conference of the NBA is only separated by a few wins(win percentage points) and he wishes that the NHL, whose Eastern conference is only separated by 8 points, got as much attention as does the close NBA race in the West.

    Tootoo at it again

No he meant Gaks, it's a mix breed of a goat and a yak...they are devilish creatures who are very aggressive, not very good skaters IMHO.

    The Hockey News article excerpt

Just a little excerpt from this edition of The Hockey News, Campbell just talks about how creating offense shouldn't be what the NHL should focus on, but instead a host of other things i.e. the inconsistency of penalty calls, illegal goalie equipment, complementing the best defensive forward with a similar trophy for defensemen "best offensive defensmen" award. Also one of the other things Campbell mentions that the NHL head office need not be concerned with habitual "dirty hit" offenders, but needs to crack down on anybody who delivers a questionable hit. Campbell says this in regards of that last statement, slapping the head office hard in the face, "Nicklas Lidstrom takes a vicious elbow to the head from Ian Laperriere and a league office that supposedly is concerned about headshots sits back and does nothing while one of the greatest defensemen to ever play the game is out of the lineup." Just thought I'd bring this up, it's a good article and if anyone else gets The Hockey News I recommend reading it, page 12

    Pavel Datsyuk for the Selke

The only think that Datsyuk lacks is shot blocking ability, that is often criticized because, well, he won't get infront of shots. But there is no one else I'd like as a back checker on my team, that's for sure. I also don't like his one on one abilities though, only because I think watching Lidstrom night in and not out being one of the best one one one defenders spoils my perceptions of other players lol
