Very uncharacteristic game from Datsyuk. I have a feeling the 3rd period the Wings will come out flying, though.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious Nostradamus, i do know how to read. I was pointing out that this place would be blowing up if Big Rig made the same mistakes. I never once said, "This place needs to start reeming out Datsyuk, i can't believe no one has pointed out how bad those plays were". Keep your words in your mouth, don't put them in mine.

I wonder what LGW would be doing if Ericsson made those same mistakes that Datsyuk made. Oh well, Datsyuk will score two goals this game all on his own.

At least on a positive note, we looked good for the majority of the period. bad news is that our PP is still craptastic and we gave up a final minute goal as we did much of last season.

Typical Wings, dominate for 90% of the period, be down by one at the end.

I agree. It's also not good for the coach to say he's going to play a player, and then not. But then again, it's common practice to not mess with a winning line-up.

I have 3 neggers that neg' all my posts. The Mods know who it is and I know who they are. I know most of the guys I played hockey with, as soon as they could ditch the cage/visor they did. They said it was to see better, but I know they did it because they thought they'd "look" cooler. Any decent visor is fog resistent and the bottom of the visor maybe obstructs your view by like 2%. If visors were really that detreimental to your sight, the best players in the world wouldn't be wearing them. Also, as eluded too, I'm just assuming the veterans don't want to lose the only eyes they have, while the younger guys just want to try hockey without any cage/visor. The smarter ones will keep some sort of eye protection, though. edit: Tori Spelling

The fight had no impact. If it had some sort of impact, it wouldn't have taken a full period to score a goal against a Nucks' team that is visually scuffling after such a emasculating fight. Why can't you just appreciate Lappy turtling?

Asham get's a plus 5 for not beating a downed opponent, but a minus 3 for the gesture after the fight, but a plus 2 for a funny gesture.

Filppula's defense easily prevents a dozen or so points. Add that to his total and you find his real worth. Anywhere between 35-45 points and I'm happy because i know he makes his money when the real season starts.

We still gave up wayyy too many chances. The game could have easily been a lopsided win for the Nucks'. I know we shut them out, but a large part was due to JHowww and the Nucks' inability to finish, we need tot ighten up that D. All in all though, great win, and let's do it again tomorrow!!!!

This has less to do with Crosby, but more how annoying the media is.

As long as we are out of the West. At least it's a start. Wouldn't be long until Florida is gone, so that's probably when major re-alignment will happen. it's better to be in the East when re-alignment happens than to be in the West and try to get into the East. Plus, being in the SouthLeast will at least guarantee us a division crown every year and a guaranteed playoff spot that goes along with it.
