I'm ok with trying to see if Emmerton will clear waivers and signing Brunner to a one-way deal in hopes that we can see if he'll clear waivers to be sent down while playing Nyquist. I just think Gustav just has too much skill, skill that would significantly help the team more than Emmerton or Brunner. When Mursak comes back, then try and call up Emmerton or Brunner and send Nyquist back down.

I think he needs to be taken out to the defensive zone by Lidstrom so he can show him proper positioning so things like this don't happen. He can hit all the people he wants i.e. Kronwall and Stuart, but don't take bad routes to the player with the puck. he says all he was trying to do was get between Ben and the goalie, well he could have done that by taking a better route and using stick work or forcing Ben out wide and laying on the body. Brendan will learn fro this and next time, hopefully, he'll be better positioned and eliminate the player from the puck with either a good poke check, forcing him wide, or taking the body where he doesn't sacrifice his positioning.

It's pretty sad if that's all you watch hockey for. I know a few girls that only watch hockey for fighting, but that's ok because they are good looking and don't know any better. Gretzky never fought, Fedorov never fought, Bure never fought, Yzerman never fought, Lidstrom never fights and they were/are the price of admission. Note: I don't consider wrestling an opponent down to the ice a fight. I consider what Datsyuk and Perry did fighting and whatever Lilja use to try to do was considered fighting, though.

Completely different situations. We were coming back from a lockout and had to get under the cap a couple season later. Shanny balked at the Wings 3mil offer and went with the Rangers at 4 Million, taking up 10% of the team's cap hit. Wings got out just in time, because Shanny went from 82 points with the Wings to 62, 46, and then finally 14. Plus we had Datsyuk and Zetterberg breaking out as stars, we didn't need Shanahan. With Bertuzzi we know we're getting 40-45 points from him and he is taking up a shade under 2mil of cap. On top of that, we have no one to replace him and his production. Mursak won't, Emmerton won't, and Brunnstrom is a wait and see thus far. Bertuzzi is going no where.

Bullcrap. He doesn't need to make that hit at all. He could have gone shoulder to shoulder or not even hit him. There was zero point to that hit besides Richards wanting to decapitate someone. Slow-mo or regular speed, it doesn't matter. The head was the only thing contacted and it's the only thing that was ever going to be contacted. Howe and Terrible Ted never did crap like that. They'd at least look you in the eyes before they'd land the people's elbow on you. It's incomprehensible how someone can't see anything wrong with that hit. I don't know if you're just a troll, but at least most of the enforcer slappies can recognize bad hits when they see them.
