Really? So who's sitting so Emmerton can play? Our top 9 are Zata, Datsyuk, Cleary, Filppula, Cleary, Franzen, Holmstrom, Hudler, and bertuzzi. Our bottom 3 will be Helm, Eaves, Miller, Abdelkader, Emmerton, Mursak, Brunnstrom. Eaves and helm are locks, so somehow we are going to play both Brunnstrom and Emmerton and only go with 5 defensemen while sitting Abdelkader and Miller since Mursak is out? Might want to re-think that.

I definitely want to see Brunnstrom in over Emmerton. I ddn't like the PTO at the beginning, but his play and work ethic has really impressed me.

You can't compare eras. back when he played, even though it wasn't that long ago, concussions and the effects on the brain were a relative unknown. Once these players understand there are consequences for their illegal actions, the suspensions will go down. You can still blast a guy in the chest or stand up a player in open ice, you just can't sucker punch players or hit them in the head. I don't see how that is pussyfying the game. There's clearly something else going on with you that you aren't talking about which is making you grumpy about all this. Even goon lovers understand that hitting to the head shouldn't be in the game, so what's your real issue?

The hit looks very similar to the Steckel-Crosby hit. I thought that was intentional, and I thought this one was intentional as well. It looks like he see's him coming the whole time and then "acts" like he doesn't see him then bam, shoulder to the face.

He'll get suspended. Leaned in and shouldered the guy to the head away from the play.

I'd fully argue the +/- thing was mainly due to Rafalski being so dominate in 5v5 play. Rafalski may have played average defensively, but he was completely able to take over even strength play with his offensive abilities, which is why Ericsson had such a good +/-.

Almostt. I like Mursak because he shows a lot of promise and brings things to the Wings that we don't have. You like Emmerton because you see something in his game you like and you like giving guys who spent years in GRap a chance to shine. Whereas I'm saying the reason Emmerton spent so much time in the minors is because he sucks, just like the other scrubs we had in the minors out of juniors and Emmerton is bascally a Miller-lite....and Miller Light is all sorts of nasty.

Holland didn't sign Ericsson to that big contract to ride the pine. Won't happen unfortunately.

I don't care who is in it, I'll watch it regardless. If you boycott watching this because certain high market teams are making it over other teams, then you probably would have boycotted the 80s Stanley Cup games seeing how NYI and EDM were always in them. Or maybe you just pretended the 60s and 70s didn't exist since Montreal would not stop winning cups. Who the F cares that a team is playing in the WC repeatedly? It's a sweet gimmick that is fun to watch regardless. I'm guessing the only people who are saying they are passing are the people who have never played hockey. I love watching these games because it reminds me of when I use to play hockey outdoors on my uncle's pond. I remember hearing last year during the Winter Classic from the announcers that they'd like to see Detroit and Toronto play in Windsor for a Winter Classic.
