Great signing Kenny. Our back end is much faster. I'm fine with our defense now. Lids, Kronwall, Stuart, White, Commadore64, Kindl, Ericsson are a solid top 7. Now all we need to do is dump Hudler and I will consider this summer a success with all things cnsidered. I don't see Holland signing anymore defensemen unless he plans on trading Kindl or else we'll have 8 DMen and there's zero chance Kindl AND Ericsson would sit because of that massive Ericsson deal. I see a possible top 9 forward being signed, probably someone who can play with pavel, otherwise all i see are GRap signings if Hudler isn't traded.

Kopecky at 3mil a season really isn't that bad of a deal. He has a couple rings and is a big body and can put up points and is above average defensively. I still laugh every time I see his name and think of how terrible he is/was, though. he's the product of playing with Hossa and Sharp, but he can easily be a good player on a 3rd line and he's going to get a buttload of time on the Jacksonville Jaguars this season.

Actually, the next Datsyuk would be Jurco. Pulkkinen would be a Hull lite. Jarnkrok is a Zetterberg clone. I don't see Franzen or Abdelkader or Cleary on that roster. Probably not Ericsson or STuart as well. No way in HELL Pyett makes the team over Marchenko or Marshall or Almqvist.

Why? When's the last time Kronwall hit someone in the regular season? Same goes for Stuart. Who are Lidstrom and Kindl going to hit? Jovo is too slow to hit anyone. Wiz is basically the only guy who consistently throws his weight around.

Agreed, he's not too flashy, but he was easily one of the, if not the best, defensemen in the entire OHL in the second half of the season and he was only a rookie. Look for him to put up monster numbers this season and really fill out that 6'3" frame of his.
