I explained it on the last page, but basically his draft year everyone though he had a blood disorder and he missed some international tournaments because of it, but it was just mono and a bad spleen that has been removed. He went late this year because of his unwillingness to move to North America. He was probably the best DMan in the draft, but he's stated to numerous Russian medias that he would prefer to stay in Russia, but hasn't 100% ruled of the NHL. The KHL, in 2009, made him the face of their junior league and has since marketed him as "The One". They are having it up here July 7th-14th? That's right at the tail end of Cherry Festival... It's going to be even more hectic. I work at the Resort they will be staying at, maybe I can dig up some stuff for everyone.

There were no top end DMen left at the 24th spot so he traded down to get two picks and came away with one of the most skilled forwards in the draft and the highest rated offensive defenseman in the draft. How can you NOT get excited about that trade by Holland?

Not the best of fighters, relies too much on his size and seems to only go after smaller guys. Plus in one of the videos he lays a nasty knee on knee to a guy. If he cleans up his act I'd be more excited, but I know all the enforcer slappies are drooling over this goon. If he works on his game, I'll start to get excited, but as I see it, he won't ever make the Wings or the Griffins.

Pulkkinen had some freak injuries, he wasn't injury prone, and just played a full SML season and competed in the playoffs and WJHC. He's fine. Why do we have to wait 10 years to satisfy you? I'll get back to you in a couple months to see our guys tearing up leagues that 1st rounders aren't even doing as well in.

Check out this years "steal of the draft", I'll give you a hint, his name starts with Marek and ends with Tvrdon. Wings certainly got height and size this year, can't wait to see what people complain about next year.

My only problem is, is that I don't see the Wings drafting any Russians. I'd love those two picks, but the Wings don't like drafting Russians.
