Except Hamrlik has been highly consistent throughout his entire career and a few of the guys that are being thrown around have had one or two good years. Signing them long term might turn out to be a great move, or they can pull a Hudler and not live up to the contract you give them. Just to stay on point of this thread, if B.Rad really wants 8mil+, then pass. If he'd take 6mil long term with the NHL's premier franchise, then do it. This may be the first and only time I will ever agree with you.

Classic Eva. I lol'd pretty hard at this sequence, and a lot at the bolded parts.
-
I'd also be ok with him rotating as a 6th DMan. He's better than a handful of team's 6th DMen.
-
Modano was suppose to come in and play around 41 games. I thought that was what he was brought in to do, to rotate with players? ANd there wasn't much of a gamble with modano, seeing as he didn't have that big of a cap hit. Obviously if a good deal comes along he'll take it, he's not stupid. But Holland says he's pretty much set with his top 9, to me, that means he likes his top 9 how it is. babcock says he would "like" to add a top 6 forward, how is that any less ambivalent? Both men are postering and saying everything that all parts of a team says. Like I said, who gives a f*** if Hamrlik is old? You're telling me you wouldn't take a guy, who next year, will put up 30+ points and finish +10 next season just because he is old? Would I rather have a 28 year old who will do the same? Yes. Would I rather pay someone who is ten years older 70-50% of what that 28 year old will be wanting who will perform the same or probably better? Yes. That's called being a smart GM.

I'd be ok with Meech as the 6th/7th DMan rotating with Kindl. With Kindl getting 60% of the playing time. I mean, Meech still is young and is a decent PP DMan and a skilled puck mover. Would I want him full time? No. Would I care if he was a 7th DMan? Not at all.

Holland disagrees with Babcock: Babcock is saying what every coach alwayssays. "We would like to add a top six forward and a top 4 defensman". This is nothing new, ever coach says it. We are fine offensively. Add some sand paper to the 4th line is all we have to do there. If the WIngs add Hamrlik, that solves some of the offense we lose from Rafalski. I don't give a s*** that he is old, Hamrlik will play 75+ games and put up over 30 points and finish with a +/- of 10 or higher.

For forwards: Cody McCormick or Michael Rupp plus Fiddler to upgrade our already stellar bottom two lines. Do not re-sign Miller. These two guys are as good as Miller, plus have no problems throwing down. 2.5mil cap hit for two of these three players total. For defense: Jay Harrison and Hamrlik. Harrison is an upgrade over Ericsson and Salei, plus he is big and physical and likes to punch faces while putting up points. Hamrlik will put up 30+ points and finish +10 and will be a suitable stop gap for Rafalski and will play 75+ games. about 5mil cap hit for both these guys combined. Leaving us with a ton of cap space to use at the trade deadline to pick up Richards from whatever team he hinder with his cap hit.

Except we are looking for big holes to fill on defense, not offense. Our offense ranked top five in the regular season AND playoffs (2nd). Kuklas Corner must read LGW because the teams we mentioned are the same ones we mentioned...weeks ago...

I like this one from Mike Rupp: @BizNasty2point0 #HatingOnDatsyukIsLike biting someone and not getting suspended.....nevermind
-
My tweet was "Well @biznasty2point0, #HatingOnDatsyuk is like telling someone hockey would work in Phoenix."
-
His previous season with the WIngs, 3mil+. This season, 1-2mil. I averaged the two and went with 2-3mil. He'll either play like he did this past season or he'll play like a 3mil+ player this coming season. I'm hoping for the latter so he can at least bring in a high end player come the trade deadline.
-
TSN.Ca I wonder who will have the balls to criticize Shanahan over a suspension or fine or non-suspension
-
I've always liked the MLB/NFL method where it's not segregated between east and west.
-
I'd be shocked if Lidstrom took more than 6mil next season. now way he wants a raise, he's not that type of person. Damn you!!!! That's my youtube video I like playing!!!! Lol.
-
Then let me rephrase, it's US vs Canada. The South, shall rise, again!
-
Agreed, but these are men, and If someone offered me 5.5 million and someone offered me 3.75mil...I'd take the 5.5 mil 11 out of 10 times. Unless of course, it was my favorite team in the city I became a man in, then I'd be more loyal to them . Plus, there are a lot of teams that are only missing two or three key signings that would put them over the hump and make them legitament cup contenders. Look at Nashville, one or two more forwards and they are a Stanley Cup team, plus they have like 60 mil in cap space to play with.

And this guy thought the world was ending a couple weeks ago: Sometimes people just say thing to say things. Case in point, a professional athlete always says they'd love to re-sign in a place they are miserable at to come out looking good. A coach will always say they need a top six forward and a top 4 DMan. We finished 4th in scoring during the post season season and second in the regular season. We are fine offensively.I'm also banking on the fact that Hudler can't possibly suck as bad as he did last season for this coming season lol. Put all that cap space in defense and let's win another 'ship?
-
Ohhhhhh, that makes more sense, except I'd turn him down since that's nearly 1/6th of the team's cap! unless they took Hudler off our hands, since that'd make it more of a 6.5 cap hit and it would be less than Datsyuks

Silly knowledgeably-disabled fan. Red Wings Attendances over the last 10 seasons (% full): 10-11: 98.1% 09-10: 97.4 08-09: 99% 07-08: 94% 06-07: 100% 05-06: 100% 03-04: 100% 02-03: 99.8% 01-02: 99.9% 00-01: 97.5% Our attendance is fine. Plus, I never said anything about attendance, I said the fact the city wouldn't build a new NHL arena but would build a new state-of-the-art minor league hockey arena was silly. If you're going to try and make a condescending argument, at least make a good one

I remember reading that Everglade's player Drew Larman chased down a purse snatcher in a mall one day. I also rememeber the dynamic duo of Ryan O’Byrne and Tom Kostopoulos stealing a purse lol.
-
Couldn't agree more. I think the ratings will last since Boston is in a huge market and all of Canada will be watching to see if Vancouver can finally bring the cup back to Canada.
-
Wait... You'd take OV at 9.5mil over Dats at 6.7 and/or Zata at 6mil?
-
Well i guess we'll have to agree to disagree since all my "fluff" apparently doesn't pertain to anything. It's ironic, though, because that "fluff" easily refutes all of your claims and then some. And for the record, I'm not praising Bettman. I think another guy could come in and do a better job, but to say bettman has done a terrible job is a damned lie. If you don't like the man, then don't like him. But don't make stuff up, it just makes you look silly. Case in point, I've never liked Cleary, there's no rhyme or reason as to why I don't like him, but I'm not going to say he sucks and start regurgitating incorrect things about him that I know nothing about or heard on a message board.
