You get a + for the Idiocracy reference
-
If Wings can get him for under 4mil a season, then the Wings should offer anything they can to get him here, but if he wants more than that, let some other team overpay him.
-
So are we trading him to the Lightning so he resigns there? Or does he Sign there and then resign? I think he'll re-sign and then resign in Detroit. I must resign from this thread now as I feel if I re-sign anymore more replies, I may have to resign from this site.
-
You should post that in the offseason changes thread.
-
He's actually a decent skater. This is what one HFBoard member had to say about his skating this past season. And I'll take this guys word since he watches SEL games everyday and is from Sweden:
-
Tampa Bay and Nashville have shown that hockey CAN work in non-hockey markets. It takes a loyal owner and good management in place. Something PHX and ATL were severely lacking.
-
I wouldn't, Tatar still needs one more season in the AHL to work on his skating and defense. After that, he'll be a staple.

Anything is not possible. This is elementary school where we tell the idiots that. Hudler for ovechkin is not possible. Detroit signing Weber this offseason is not possible. Is it possible that Detroit will target any RFAs this summer? No. Holland said he won't. Anything is not possible. You sound like rotoworld or bleacherreport who say Weber or Doughty or Bogo are on our radar. And yes, even if we had 20mil+ to spend in the offseason, even if we lost Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski and Zetterberg, it is improbable, nay, Impossible, that the Wings would sign any RFAs. Holland doesn't play that game.
-
Another clever attempt at a blueadams line thread. The more I read and hear about the opinion of Smith from the coaching staffs, the more i think he has a legit shot next year at making the club. At the beginning of the offseason I thought it was 90-10 of him not making the squad, now I'm at 60-40 and building steam.
-
So Holland says he's not going to be stupid and waste vital assets on RFAs. The GMs of said RFAs say they'll match any and all offers. Yet, the realists on LGW are the ones who need to check their heads?

They must be avid LGW readers, then lol

The problem with Hudler, though, is that he shouldn't have to play with Datsyuk type player to produce. He's had numerous chances over the years with top notch players. Hudler only spent 15% of his ice time at even strength with players you'd classify as 4th liners, the rest of the time he was with good players and he could not produce with them. In the Regular season, Hudler got ~27% of his even strength points while playing with Datsyuk. In comparison, Filppula got ~25% of his points on a line with Franzen and Bertuzzi and only 2% of his pints with Datsyuk. If Filppula and Hudler are both playmakers, why is it that Filppula is able to carry lines and his max potential around LGW is 40-60 points, but Hudler is somehow able to reach 80-100 with you? A player needs to elevate their games while with other players not named Datsyuk, and Hudler can't do that. Filppula got over 50% of his points with Bertuzzi as a linemate, I mean, come on now.
-
Eva, this is a thread about Stuart, leave Hudler out of this.

Rafalski has shown you don't need to be great or even above average defensively to be dominant at even strength. Smith has all the tools to dominate at even strength with his vision and poise. As long as he starts the season with the defense of an average 5th-6th DMan, he'll be ocmpletely fine due to his offence being well above of what normal 5th-6th DMen bring to the table.
-
For under 1.25, he's a great 5-6 DMan. For 2-3.5mil, he's a terrible 4-6 DMan.

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

This is true, I guess I have the mantra if I'm going to neg someone I'll at least post why instead of cower like a little *****. I guess not everyone can man up? -
I'm guessing it would for the first year, but after the initial season it'd be like burying him in Europe. I do not, however, think 30 minutes a week to discuss his next contract would be enough to re-sign him since i'm sure Edmonton will have plenty of cap space to outbid anyone for his services.
-
I use to be excited about this guy, but after his dismal showing at the WJC, I've lost some hope for this guy.
-
Touche, but don't forget, that's only from the snowball that is this! Uwe Krupp He'd have to go back here first!
-
3.5mil cap hit for 8 years for 28mil 6 6 5 4 3 2 1 1 A man could wish right I hope he doesn't resign, though. It'd be better if he re-signed instead.

Might as well add an update on our other concussion victim: Cleary sentenced to 60 years in wife's slaying At least, that's what comes up when i google him...

Figured I'd just siphon this from the Nestrasil thread in the prospects section:

But a lot of excited LGW members come June.
