Goes to show that this could have been Tootoo earlier in the season... scary stuff my LGW brethren
-
You may be on to something... Dress 4 skaters and have two goalies in net!
-
Ericsson here for 1.5mil or less and I wouldn't be pissed (I wouldn't be happy either). Ericsson at 2mil or more, then I'd be pissed.
-
Pshhh...if you find a hotter girl you go for that.
-
Don't be an ass, you know damn well it was 11 games!
-
It's weird how much we agree on when it pertains to the past eras lol.
-
Very wrong indeed: Game 6 If Boston makes it, they might since Boston is a huge market. Tampa Bay vs San Jose would yield the worse. Boston vs Vancouver would have huge rating.
-
He was a very good goalie, but Manny Legace would have won cups with those Montreal teams. Edit: And I also have a few other goalies ranked ahead of him.
-
Those are decent adds...except those lines would be terrible. The fourth line is defensively weak and slow and the third line is defensively weak.
-
Oh I completely agree. I even had to go and look at some of the right wingers because I could really only name Hull and Lindsay without delving into our playing era lol. The right wingers were simple and the centers weren't hard either. Same goes for the defense and goalies...for the most part.

I always wished Ericsson would have learned to shoot. If you have a 100+ MPH shot, you use it, and he NEVER did.
-
I tried to keep it players who actually played those positions: Hull - Gretzky - Howe Lindsay - Lemieux - Richard Mahovlich - Beliveau - Lafleur Robitaille - Esposito - Bossy Orr - Harvey Shore - Lidstrom Bourque - Potvin Sawchuk Plante

You're new-ish here, you'll learn.
-
Downhill very very fast in his second season with the Avs.
-
Let's not kid ourselves, E's +/- was due mostly to Rafalski's puck moving skills. Their +/- would have been much better if Ericsson ever learned to pinch at the right times. Lidstrom wasn't a mainstream star until his 30s when the Norris voters learned you didn't need to be a Scott Stevens type to be an effective DMan. Lidstrom should have had more Norris' in his late 20s, but the voters had a hard on for big hitters and gritty DMen. Fischer was also on a 30 point pace during his final season before his injury Ericsson will be lucky if he ever tops 20 points.

Holy straw man! First two games 1+1 (both Pittsburgh loses), last two games 0+1 (both Pittsburgh wins). 10 SOG in the first two games and 5 SOG in the last two games. -2 the first two games, +1 the last two games. Hell, the game we was "suppose to be suspended for" he played terrible. He wasn't the reason we lost. You really need to form your arguments better if you're going to be condescending.

Fischer was also 19 years old and still growing into his body, Big Rig is 26 and still a softie. Imagine a 26 year old, 7 year vet Fischer playing in the league, the dude would have been a beast!

I honestly think he could be a 70+ point player...just not on the Wings. Kind of like Leino and kind of how Kopecky and what's his name....that defenseman who was a flash in the pan....Quincey! Except Hudler actually has a good skill set, it just doesn't translate here well.

I should have expanded it to "a massive diver and poor sport".
-
I support this statement 100%! Malkin playing didn't decide the series. Wings won the first two games of the series, in which Malking played, and then just got outplayed the rest of the way. You're the only Nuck fan that doesn't realize that Kesler is a massive diver. All of HFBoards knows and even the Nucks main forum knows it. So either 99% of the hockey fan population is wrong, or you are wrong.

It'd be nice to get a second rounder for him, but a 3rd and 5th is something Hakan could do wonders with. A change of scenery would allow Hudler to put up great numbers, he just won't be able to do it here. I don't believe that, unless you mean in the first half of the season he was a bigger ***** than Filppula and refused to compete. After he was benched in the playoffs he finally started showing some heart. Too little, too late, though.

Blues took a great step in the right direction this year, that's for sure. Their drafting has been terrible, though. 5 picks in the top 45 in 2007, and they botched all of theme except Perron. They got a nice pick in Rundblad two drafts ago. Their last draft, though was probably the best they've had since 2003. Schwartz, Tarasenko look real nice. Gardiner might project to a decent player if he matures as a player over the next couple years in college. Beach has a chance of being an effective PF if he gains some muscle. The wildcard is Wannstrom, if he develops like he could, he could be a star, but he flopped this past season in his stint in the SEL. Next season will give us a great indication if he is going to step up, or step down. As for the WIngs. They have Sheahan, Smith, Pulkkinen, Aubry, Callahan, Jarnkrok, Mursak, and the list goes on for players that are destined for the NHL. Edit: Just realized Rundblad was traded for a mid first round pick, which turned into Teresanko. I know the Blues are D heavy, but that trade was easily won by the Sens.

That near 3mil in cap space of Hudlers could go towards a highly effective top 4 DMan or a speedy winger capable of hitting and sniping.
-
Lidstrom won't re-sign for less than 6mil. he'll be the highest paid DMan next season if he does come back. Him even being offered less is an insult and in no way would Kenny or Mr. Illitch do that.

Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays are able to keep teams afloat minus a salary cap while having a very very low and still being able to stay competitive. Hell, look at the Predators who have a low payroll and a self imposed cap.
