Obviously I was hoping for at least one win. We are 0-1-1 against the Sharks this series all while being outscored by two goals. The Sharks have been hitting the Wings with their best shot and are barely winning. Once the Wings, collectively, bring their A game the series will be won by the Wings. JLA crowd won't let the Wings bring anything other than their A game. So yah, I'll take an 0-2 hole being outscored by two goals. It could have been 0-2 being outscored by 5+ and piling up injuries all while Howard sucking and the defense disappearing.

His 3mil contract is for him to play excellent defense and chip in with offense along with solid faceoff winning abilities. babcock disagrees with the OP as he is 3rd in TOI/G among forwards. Plus, for someone whose knock is that he doesn't shoot enough, he is tied for 2nd among forwards on the team with SOG and in points. Why not call out guys on the team that are paid around the same range as him or more that have been ghosts, not only this series, but this postseason? Filppula is fine. Our Powerplay is not.

It took you too long to set things up. San Jose had things up quicker than you. They dominated with their GDT. Sadly I don't see this GDT being able to top theirs, not today and definitely not if the series becomes 2-0 San Jose. God I hate the Sharks. I bet the refs help with their GDT threads. Their mod must work for Bettman. It's going to be a long game if this GDT doesn't get its act together. Maybe Matt can fire up our posters and we won't embarrass ourselves in front on the Shark posters.

Wings had a near perfect game one and everyone is freaking out. We weathered the storm of a long lay off and almost pulled off a win on the road. Who cares if we got dominated on the stat sheet? Truth is, we brought the Sharks to OT in their home arena while playing short handed the entire second, third, and OT. We just need to steal one of the next two in San Jose and we have the series won because I don't see San Jose winning in Detroit. I mean, look at all the line matching Babcock had to try and do FFS. We lack break out quickness. Modano is one of the faster guys on the team, get him out there along with Draper over Miller and Hudler and maybe we can produce more offense. Nothing against Miller or Hudler, but I think we need more speed out there.

Datsyuk and Filppula continue to shut down the top lines of SJ and we fire everything at the end and get some nasty garbage goals. 4-2 Wings.

We had 5 PP shots. So without powerplays they outshot us 30-20. That's domination to me.

Subtract 14 SOG from the PP and they still dominated in shots.
